I love musicals - even in the sixties. I took my 85yr old grandmother to see the film version of The Sound Of Music and she adored it. I was a bit embarrassed when she stood up and applauded 'Climb Every Mountain' though.

I was watching West Side Story in the early 60s. That's a musical!

One thing I did manage was the Cathy McGowan hair did quite well with some of the clothes too. I had a pair of shoes that she designed and they are still one of the best pairs I've ever had. Who would have believed then that the Queen of Cool would end up with a man who sang in musicals? In 1963 I would never have admitted to watching a musical

Oh yes it was the hair! My own rather thin locks could never get there in a million years. And the fact that she got near to all those pop stars (especially Beatle George)

I aspired to having a curtain of hair like Cathy McGowan's. Glossy locks with no split ends was the ultimate achievement when I was 18!

Ah, didn't we all want to be Cathy McGowan KatyK? She was just so cool. I remember the competition(?) to decide whether you preferred cathy's hair turned under or flicked out. Answers on a postcard please......

Deeda They made similar comments in those days too. I remember Nancy Spain saying how ridiculous the opening words of Johnny Mathis's "Misty" were - "Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree". Mind you, she had a point.

I was very sorry to hear about David Jacobs (although a bit surprised that he was still alive) I remember him first in Journey into Space when he seemed to play all the extra characters. I think it would be rather good to revive Juke Box Jury. Faced with some of the stuff that is released nowadays I can see the whole jury sitting there saying "What the was THAT?"

I love Chris's breakfast show too. He also does The One Show on a Friday.

Chris Evans has the breakfast show on radio 2 every morning and has won lots of awards for it. I love it. Makes me happy first thing in the morning and he is always so cheerful!!

... and no, I don't like the Evans - although I haven't heard anything of him for years.

It is strange, isn't it that some of the people we look back on and enjoyed on television are now being accused of all sorts of sexual harrassment. I rather think that some things were taken for granted then, whereas now that is not so. don't want to get into an argument here, just expressing my thoughts.

I loved Juke Box Jury. I didn't particularly notice David Jacobs, I was just interested in the pop stars of the day who appeared on it and the new records they were voting on. I always wanted to be Cathy McGowan
