Hooray! The new series starts on BBC1 on Tuesday smile. Is anyone else looking forward to it? I have already set my recorder for the whole lot, in case I forget to watch.

I thought it was just as good as the first series. The acting is superb, especially Sarah Lancashire and Nicola Walker.

I'll have to watch it on catch up - Engerland lost to Germany (again) and that dominated the tv in our house.

Looking forward to this tonight. I do find it a bit disconcerting that the same small pool of actors tend to do the rounds in dramas. Moving from farmer to criminal to detective in some cases. It takes time for my head to adjust!

I really like this programme, good tv is a bit thin on the ground, apart from Borgen. I am looking forward to watching this tonight.

One of the very few programmes my OH and I both love so I can actually watch on the nice large flat screen telly and not on my laptop on catchup. Only 6 episodes though - pity.

Last Tango in Halifax or not? After reading these comments, I see no-one has chosen "or not". Cant wait to get home from choir practice to watch the recording!Hope nothing disastrous happens to either of them(the leading characters, I mean). I want a happy ending!!!!!

At last, something decent to watch!

merlotgran Mon 18-Nov-13 21:23:12

I'll be watching it in bed with wine and something savoury to nibble as I don't like chocs. DH will be watching the footie.
I love the two houses. The farmhouse is cosily shabby and the headteacher's house very Homes and Gardens.

Love it and can't wait to see the Yorkshire countryside as part of the bargain. Strange to meet up again with first boyfriend after 40 years .Sadly , he is still married!! Their story is a heart churner and is mixed so well with the trials of their offspring and families. Great viewing.

We missed the last couple of episodes, and missed them on catch up too. So I am really looking forward to this series.

Yeay. I loved the first series too. Brilliant cast. I'll watch it on my iPad tucked up in bed. The joy of iPlayer! Beats ITVplayer and 4oD rubbish. Can't get those aps to work here. angry

Will get DD to record it for me to watch when we get home. The waitress in a restaurant in Louisville a couple of days ago was telling us how much she is enjoying watching it and was delighted when she heard they were doing a second series.

What great news. I loved the series, great actors, wonderful scenery, good dialogue and character development. Sarah Lancashire was a joy, and the school scenes were set in a local school, which added something to the pleasure of watching it. I also liked the teenagers, they were ordinary kids, and also good actors. I'll look forward to Tuesday, which is usually a no tv evening.

Have set this to record. My DH doesn't like this type of programme so it's something for me to watch in the week while he's at work. I'm really looking forward to it. Don't know what I'll do in December though as he's retiring at the end of November. I'll have to send him off to do something for an hour each week I think smile

A well written, good cast series, about time they put something good on television. Reality programmes are fine, loved by many, but I like well acted, well written stories. Is it me????.

Gagagran Sun 17-Nov-13 12:58:40

We lived in the area for 40 years - DH born and brought up there so he for even longer. It's really nice to recognise locations but I much prefer living here on the south coast. It's very cold and bleak in the Pennines in winter. Love the casting of actors with authentic accents!

glammanana Sun 17-Nov-13 11:56:02

Wow about time something decent to watch so fed up with repeats of stuff and some of the repeats had only been shown last year, biker I loved Mistresses thought it was great to be honest I wouldn't mind a repeat of that.

yogagran Sun 17-Nov-13 11:30:28

I've set the new series to record too. Really enjoyed the last one so I'm looking forward to this one
