Glad I'm not the only confused one.
It was made worse by my DH coming home from his night shift on the London Underground and pointing out the numerous mistakes....

Well, there were three of us sat in silence and full concentration and non of us is any the wiser !

I think it is being repeated on BBC3 in the next few days so I may watch it again and see if I can make more sense of it!

Oh, I really enjoyed it! Farfetched death, yes, but they made it seem vaguely plausible I thought. Always have to suspend belief just a little with these programs I think!

Though if I'm going to nitpick, I do wish they'd shown it at the right season - would have been more appropriate to show it near Guy Fawkes surely? What did you DH say Pittcity. Be interested to know what they got wrong!

Yes a bit confusing. Several different ideas of how he 'did it'. Will watch again on catchup. Maybe today. I DO love Benedict Cumberbatch though.

Yes, it was a bit confusing [am easily confused!] Enjoyed it nevertheless, and loved the bit about the 'off button' on the bomb.Glad Watson got rid of the moustache [is that the correct spelling?]Though I can't see that actor now without thinking of The Hobbit [saw the film last week.]

Three of us started watching, but we turned off after 30 mins as none of us knew what the hell was going on.
Apart from it being confusing, DH couldn't make out what was being a lot of the time due the sound quality. We know his hearing isn't perfect, but there were quite a few times when the other two of us didn't know what had been said either!
What a shame, as I had been looking forward to it.

Have you seen him in Worlds End rosesarered? I think of him as a David Jason type actor. He can take on may different parts and do them really well. BTW Worlds End was filmed in my home town (Garden City)

At one point I thought he was going to kiss Watson. That bit was very sweet.

I was furious with Sherlock for what he put Watson through on the underground, with the bomb business, having switched it off. How cruel! Especially after he knew how W had suffered when he thought he'd died!
I also missed quite a lot of the dialogue, but didn't know what was going on anyway, even though I was trying to concentrate.

I tend to watch the best programmes on the iPad with headphones specifically so that I catch everything that is said. My hearing is a bit duff but actors get away with mumbling and something gets muffled in transmission. Headphones pick everything up and lifts my enjoyment... but I still couldn't work out which version of the faked death was real! Who cares...is Moriarty dead or not? And is Mycroft more nasty than we already know? Time will tell...

My hearing isn't 100% so I use the sub-titles. Flower what did you think of "Worlds End"? I'm a big Simon Pegg fan and am thinking of buying the DVD

Thought Sherlock was a wonderful concoction, a combination of Harry Potter and James Bond, Clever, comedic and, yes, confusing but I guess that's the idea...brilliant script and acting though I found some lines were delivered at such speed making them indistinct (slightly better on iPad). Sundays episode should be just as entertaining. Or will it?

Never seen it before but heard lots of good reports so decided to start with the new series. Oh dear , couldn't make head nor tail of it. Thought I may have drifted off, hang on--- I've seen this bit before. What's happening ,darling ??

Great stuff! Loved the idea of 13 different permutations of how his 'death' was faked. Much more intriguing than just one answer. But ....... Who is the man with the glasses at the end? Hm?

With Mycroft being played by Mark Gattis I imagine he could get very nasty indeed

sunseeker because it was filmed in Letchworth Garden City and Welwyn GC mostly I loved it. It was good to see our local town on the big screen even though they did massacre the World's First Roundabout in the process. They did apologise profusely and paid for it to be replanted. Three of the guys including Simon Pegg and Martin Freeman switched on our Christmas lights in 2012. We saw the film in our local cinema which was used as the frontage of the Mermaid pub - Worth a look even though there is an awful lot of F's and other expletives in it. I am proud to live in Newton Haven.

I Moriarty REALLY dead though. Probably but I did like the character.
