Which channel?

Channel 4. I enjoyed it too. Not so sure about the boss woman but it isn't meant to be too accurate. I would say it's good fun but the crimes were pretty awful.

It's a bit 'up front and in yer face', but I enjoyed it too.

Don't tell me, I'm going to watch it on catch-up!!

I found that there was a lot of mumbling or am I going slowly deaf? Not sure if I will watch another episode.

Yes, I watched it and thought it was brilliant, very original, funny, outrageous, in your face type of humour, an excellent cast. I really like Joanna Scanlan, but they were all good. It's a continuing story so I'm really looking forward to the next episode.
I imagine there will be some people who will "Take Offence," you can't please everybody, but they can switch off if it is not to their taste.

I came upon it while flicking through the channels and really enjoyed it. Great cast ,original approach and first class acting. Will certainly watch again.

I loved it, appealed to my sense of humour, perhaps not to everyone's taste!

I just watched it and I thought it was great. I used to be a policewoman in Manchester and that was very realistic!

Joanna Scanlon is brilliant.....its certainly a tad 'challenging, but somehow works. Perhaps its because of the humanity displayed by the leading character (missed her name) but she's the one who looses out on the promotion in the early stages.

Did anyone else catch the dad in this episode of the girl, he used to play Malcolm in Watching some moons ago. He is called Paul Brown and Emma Wray was in it too, as his girlfriend, also Liza Tarbuck too. It was in the 80's, coz I was married. I used to love this programme though.

Btw, loving Will Mellor in this, but then who doesn't?

I'm another fan, very entertaining and dark. Fantastic cast, brilliant dialogue and so very, very Manchester.
I identify with Lona's comments about it being realistic, I worked in child protection in Manchester and the scene where the police visit the home of the missing 15 year old had me back there. Walking into flats like that one, where every family member is heavily under the influence of drugs/drink, you can't see through the smoke and no one seems able to put a sentence together - shocking and I'm sure it will offend some people, but as Caz said, there's a turn off button.

We've had some great drama's set in the north recently and this one is a cracker!

I enjoyed it too. Came across it by accident on catch-up and I'm glad I did.

Must admit after the first death at the beginning I gasped....so unexpected and rather gory. I wondered if it was going to be my cup of tea! However I liked the characters and thought boss-lady was excellent. I agree that it was hard to catch all of the dialogue (thank goodness for rewind!) and I am not in the least hard of hearing. I wish actors would enunciate properly. It's possible to do it and retain a regional accent. (I find American dramas very annoying for that reason.)

I too spotted 'Malcolm' from years ago. Wasn't he a bird-watcher? I loved that series.

I am looking forward to next week's episode.

Last nights episode was another cracker. Great story lines, dialogue and shots of Manchester. The cast are also excellent.

Yes it was excellent, brilliant script and one-liners, and so original. The whole cast are fabulous. I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it before.

I agree, great drama with some very funny lines as well. There were also one or two quite touching scenes to counteract the black humour. Joanna Scanlan is wonderful in her part!

Yes, that's one of the real positives Ana, the touching scenes that counteract the black humour. Yes, the boss is a joy. I loved the scene with the female ARO's almost paying homage to her as well as the final scene when she visits the young victim and her officer's daughter with very appropriate reading material.
