I think Rob is getting to the 'give him enough rope' stage now. Talking sharply to Helen in front of Shula, who I'm sure still has doubts about him, Bossing her about in front of Fallon, arranging for Ursula to turn up in the nick of time so she can't meet Kirsty and then being so full of himself he forces himself on her.....again.
Helen is beginning to fight back and he's too arrogant to spot it.
Someone on the "other place" mentioned that the trip out tomorrow could be to visit boarding schools for Henry. Will Helen stand by and allow him to go away without a fight?
Oh goodness last nights episode was haunting I found myself urging Kirsty to get back from Borchester before Rob recaptured Helen. I think there will murder done and a body or two will be discovered at the Bulls annual Easter egg hunt. But I am still puzzling about Cursula's role in it all and as for Pat what Mother would just be happy to get involved when her son-in-law says she should,it's not as if she has known him for years and all of a sudden she is happy not to see her grandson and find out how he is progressing at school especially as he has had an upset.
The Radio Times on Good Friday has a tantalising comment about Helen.
Yes! we get our Radio Times by subscription, it arrives on a Tuesday and the first thing I do is to read the weeks very brief synopsis of each days Archers episode.
What does it say in radio times? I have to wait till I get paper on Saturday. Only wantvtonlisten when Helen puts up a fight and exposes him. Any chance?
After the programme on domestic violence on Monday I am worried for Helen's safety. The physical violence is starting and there is a definite escalation.
One woman on the TV programme was beaten black and blue to within an inch of her life. She cried bitterly at the trial because she still loved him so much!!
I think the authenticity of Helen's situation is gained by the slow, slow building of the story line. I have had enough but some women have to live with men like this daily. Their choice seems to have been taken away by the psychological bullying. Dreadful.
A tiny chink of light at last but what can Kirsty do with it? Even I felt terrified that Rob and Ursula might return and catch Helen talking to Kirsty. We need some relief now!
She promised she would tell Pat though so could she tell Tom? I think she should ring a help-line and get some information. I am sure they would tell her she should tell someone.
Mumsnet's Archers thread has been doing some research on boarding schools that take children as young as five. It seems you really have to look around to find one (and who would want to? )
I'm beginning to think he'd be better off away from such a horrible home environment.
