Oh we enjoyed that. Another great Scandinavian Noire. I haven't read the books yet. Prefer it to G of T which got so confusing.....Prefer the books of that.

It bugged me where I had seen the boy before.( I expect you are all not as daft as me. ) He was the son in Dr Foster.

It was in one of the papers last week mollie; thought I'd kept the article but can't find it [usually keep everything].

Having found the characters very confusing [doesn't help that I always seem to fall asleep before a programme ends] I watched both episodes today to work out who was who and I'm now enjoying it enormously. There's a lot of humour in it. Really looking forward to tonights episode.

I'm looking forwards to it too trouble is we're also watching 'Unforgiven' so I'll catch up with 'Last Kingdom' tomorrow.

I have been reading this series over the summer and have enjoyed them. We were away and I missed the first episode but I have decided not to catch up. Like mollie I prefer to keep the characters as I imagine them.
I wonder what TV would do to Shardlake?!!

The Wonderful Man was conceived in Norway, lived in Norway for a year, speaks and reads the Norwegian language and he has lots of friends from all three Scandinavian countries who definitely consider him to be a Viking. He also had red hair when he was younger and his mother has Dupuytren's disease - tradition has it that the disease originated with the Vikings! Oh yes, and he's a Bernard Cornwell fan.

So, yes - we're watching on iPlayer - although the WM can't stand the blood and gore and does a lot of looking away and wincing!

Last episode tonight [hope there's another series]. Even drove past a place in Northumberland the other day called 'Brida', and kept imagining all the battles that took place in the area. I understand another Cornwell book is going to be serialised [not by the BBC though]. I am so enjoying this, although Detectorists is no longer on BBC4 straight afterwards [which used to be an antidote to the violence, in the same way that it did when Peaky Blinders was on].

If this works this is where he's heading.....

Caught up with this yesterday. Wasn't sure I'd stick with it after the first episode but glad I did. Shame his sidekick Leowith (?) is dead, rather liked him!

Me too chelseababy..... who did he set off with? I know the nun was with him but there was someone else. I did have to rewatch the first two episodes to work out who was who, but glad I did now. Has he got to go and find his sister now? [think I need to rewatch the last episode again]

Just watched end again, my heartthrob was Leofric. Uthred was riding north where his sister is held captive to"blood feuds and revenge" He rode off with the nun and the soldier on the horse who was next to him at the baptism of Earl Guthrum. Not sure who he was!

I'll watch the last episode again. I've really, really enjoyed it . King Alfred was a brilliant bit of casting; he's such a good actor.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy it, thought it might be a bit macho, but loved it.
