Is It LIVE or RECORDED

I often go to my local cinema to watch live links to a ballet, theatre production or opera. Some are 'live' links to the theatre and I don't mind paying more than the price of a film if it's a live performance but if it's a recording of a live performance, which happened maybe a year ago, I don't see what makes it any different to a film and I resent paying the same price as for a live performance. We do try to avoid Encores but were caught out tonight when we went to see Of Mice And Men. Brilliantly acted by the way.

I think if it's live then it's LIVE and if it's a recording of a live performance it's a RECORDING. Both forms are advertised as Live, which is very confusing. What do you think?

Ah! I didn't realise last night's performance of Of Mice and Men wasn't live. I wasn't able to go but I do go to many of these live screenings and think the ticket price is reasonable. Is it the same price for the Encore?

We've been to a couple of 'live' shows at our local cinema, one of which was Billy Elliot. When we were booking we were told not to be late as it was live. I assumed it was, maybe not then.

I agree the cost of the Live links is very reasonable. The point is, should we be paying for a live production when it is a recording. Just saying it is "recorded live", doesn't make it any different to a film, in my opinion. I love the live links and have seen many productions I would not have seen had the links not been available.

You can tell the live links because they put tweets from twitter across the bottom of the screen during the break. And yes, they charge full price for Encores.
