Elaine Page

I agree with everything that everyone has said about Elaine Page, I can't stand musicals either but although I like her singing voice I went off her when she was so dismissive of Susan Boyle who worshipped her.
Lisa Tarbuck? Can't stand her either, irritating voice and laugh and that squeaky toy she uses must send the nations dogs barmy. As soon as either of them come on I switch to Radio 4.

If she comes on the radio its an instant switch off for us. Her cloying irritating childish giggle sets my teeth on edge.

The type of music she plays always reminds me of this. Ironically, the only show tune I can think of that I actually like is this.

I must agree that the Lisa Tarbuck show is brilliant though.Great voice + fantastic mix of music. The only person I've heard play Jake Thackeray for years.

I have not heard Elaine Paige on the programme mentioned so can't comment.

I think Naga is OK. Whilst I would find a droning monotone off-putting, I don't particularly like the rather unconvincing over-enthusiastic delivery of some presenters - and that lifting and lowering of the voice, which sounds really unnatural to me.

well thats odd.......I never listed to Radio 2 but on Sunday, in the car, I turned it on, and had to turn it off after five minutes as the dreary, bored, delivery of Elaine Page was impossible to put up with. I have never been a fan of musicals anyway, but her delivery as a presenter put me off the programme.

Well. I neither like nor dislike Elaine Paige. But I now feel really sorry for her.
As for Naga Munchetti, she seems absolutely fine to me.

Blimey I thought it was maybe just me who can't bear the sound of EP's voice (singing and speaking). I love to listen to radio 2 on a Sunday when I'm doing housework, pottering etc. but as soon as I hear her grating voice I reach for the OFF button.

On the other hand I love Lisa Tarbucks slot on a Saturday evening.

I loathe Elaine Pages programme but then I don't like music from the 'shows' anyway. Cant agree about Naga though BUT I have stopped watching BBC Breakfast - apart from Bill and Naga all the other presenters are dire and the whole thing is like Blue Peter.

My ex- always referred to Ms Page as The Poison Dwarf...

What really ground my gears was that she was introduced as a presenter in a slot which had been sacrosanct for years to Benny Green and then Russell Davies - Russell being shooed off until 9:00 pm, and finally disappearing altogether. That programme, Benny Green/Russell Davies had been the jewel on the Radio 2 dunghill,,,

I never listen to Radio 2 on Sunday afternoons because of Elaine Page's programme. For one thing it's not my type of music, and yes, her voice and delivery are annoying!
