I love this series. I have all the books and the box set, which I have just finished viewing.

It was meant to be the next big tv success after The Forsyte Saga, but I think there was a lot of TV strikes at the time so the series never really took off because so many showings had to be rescheduled because of the problems. I certainly did hang in then, which is why I ended up eventually with the books and box set.

This brilliant costume drama by Trollope is being repeated from Monday on BBC in the afternoons. Its very similar to The Forsyte Saga- I loved this when it was first shown and it has been repeated before but I missed it. BBC costume drama in its heyday. If only they would show Barchester Chronicles - Alan Rickman at his finest as Mr. Slope.
