On BBC 2 tonight series 3 of Line of Duty returns. It has 5 stars in my newspaper.

I have just watched the whole of series 2 on BBC IPlayer, even though I had seen it before it really was gripping and to be honest I had forgotten most of the twists and turns.

Enjoy smile

And he'd put false numberplates on which he whipped off afterwards...

They seemed to walk

gettingonabit Sat 23-Apr-16 11:27:07

Well, they're pool cars so don't actually "belong" to anyone. I suppose it's feasible that Dot could potentially use any car, so why did he even bother to wipe the wheel in that case?

I'm not sure if Steve would have access to a pool car whilst under suspension. When I was suspended years ago, I had access to my company car, but it wasn't a pool one.

Steve was seen handing in his keys, but if he didn't have access to a car, how did he get to the cemetery? Lindsay didn't have a carhmm.

To some extent gettingon I suppose he could say Steve gave him a lift but as he was suspended did Steve have access to his works car? I thought he touched the inside of the car door too as he got out.

brilliant, looking forward to the conclusion

That's just how I feel, gettingonabit. The last scene of the last episode took my breath away. I've been rooting for Lindsay all along and wanted to see her absolved, and then this! I need to go back to series 2 for a refresher on the girl she was looking for (the one she said was being groomed).

gettingonabit Sat 23-Apr-16 09:10:37

welshwife I was thinking of the forensics in the car too. He wiped the wheel, but surely there'll be other stuff like fibres left behind.

Can't wait for next Thurs but don't want it to be over either!

Just caught up with this, and it is really turning into a cracker, isn't it. I am sure that Lindsey sent the list either to her computer or to Steve's so the evidence is still there. It will be interesting to see what happens in the 90 minute episode next week. Off to bed now.

I think Neil Morrisey will feature again next week and Dots strings are being pulled by someone very senior its almost certain.
I think that Jill is somehow involved in the peado ring she had a look of desperation about her a bit like Dot.

NanKate Fri 22-Apr-16 21:40:51

Neil Morrisey gave Dot his incriminating mobile and the memory bit ( can't think what you call it) much to Dot's relief. Only for us viewers to see a bit later that NM had kept the real mobile/memory bit in his car. This will help to bring Dot down.

whitewave Fri 22-Apr-16 21:25:50

What happened to Neil Morrisey?

Is someone pulling Dots strings?

Welshwife Fri 22-Apr-16 20:25:18

But even if it was the same gun Steve signed it back in earlier in the episode. I doubt that he could have removed all forensic traces of himself from the car.
I thought Lindsay showed the ID to enable her to get info from the Cafe owner about Danny when she showed his photo. I thought Danny's account was only password protected as normal but that the photo of the list was in his drafts folder.

I think that awful woman will do/say something about Hastings to get back at him - a woman scorned and all that.

gettingonabit Fri 22-Apr-16 20:07:51

Final episode 90 mins! Can't wait!

Leticia Fri 22-Apr-16 19:04:07

I was a bit miffed at the beginning to find that I came late, but I think that I know as much as anyone else now. A great series- looking forward to next week and seeing how it turns out.

gettingonabit Fri 22-Apr-16 11:10:13

Didn't she send the text to "Edward" ie Ted?

I just don't get why she got in the car with Dot and showed him the list. She must've known how dangerous that would be?

And did Dot get rid of the phone? I'm guessing he must've, but I didn't notice (too much going on).

Another thing: why did Lindsay need to show her ID at the café?

So Dot is further framing Steve by using his car, and using the gun Steve signed out to shoot Denton.

I'm still confused as to how the list was saved in an account that couldn't be searched by anyone other than the account holder.

Anyone else think it was coincidence that Steve's partner came in at the very time he and Lindsay were looking at the burial records together, enabling Lindsay to search for the notebook containing Danny's email accounts?

The partner's not in on this somehow too, is she?

At last I appear to know what is going on! It was very good tonight and next week I think will be a corker. I think that Hastings is in the clear as is Steve and Kate but that woman that Hastings ended up not sleeping with is certainly not above suspicion.

morethan2 Thu 21-Apr-16 22:14:10

Twist at every turn, exciting stuff. I'm really looking forward to it all coming together.

Ana Thu 21-Apr-16 22:13:46

Yes, what a lot of information was revealed tonight. Dot's obviously going to try and frame Steve for Lindsay's murder, but at least she sent the list to...someone! It seems that no one is above suspicion - talk about corruption in high places.

What an excellent BBC drama.

tanith Thu 21-Apr-16 22:09:37

What a shock I never thought he'd pull the trigger and then he did.. shame Lindsay won't be there to see it out to the end.. also can't wait for next week and its an hour and a half so lots to come out no doubt.

carerof123 Thu 21-Apr-16 22:05:03

oh my god, poor Lindsay what an unexpected ending to tonight's program, cant wait for next week and the final episode!!!

Iam64 Wed 20-Apr-16 20:21:54

You're right about the way Lindsay got the job Welshwife. I want to trust the Boss but I'm not sure about anyone. I definitely don't trust 'that woman' and was relieved he had the sense not to stay the night, not for any moral reason but simply because I don't trust her.

Welshwife Tue 19-Apr-16 17:21:23

Merlot Hastings gives me the creeps too and I cannot make up my mind about him - however I did approve of his morals when he wouldn't stay at that woman's house - don't trust her either !

Welshwife Tue 19-Apr-16 17:18:35

I think Lindsay Denton got the job through that woman at whatever agency she had to report to. They probably take some people like her who is unlikely to offend again.

morethan2 Fri 15-Apr-16 19:07:40

I think I remember the same thing Anna it was uttered in a 'passing throw away remark' sort of way. Perhaps that's how he'll be found out. Whoever it is will remember the conversation. Anyway it is a fabulous series. The BBC at its very best. I also felt a little squeamish at last nights episodes. Brilliant escapism just what I need.

Ana Fri 15-Apr-16 17:43:44

Well, she's got something on that phone that Steve doesn't want to come out!

I had it in my head that Dot was outed (can't remember who by - they're probably dead now anyway) as The Caddie at the end of the last series. But I could be wrong as well...
