Did anyone else watch Ian Hislop's programme on Thursday? I found it very interesting, particularly the way that feelings about the poor haven't really changed at all. There have always been the Deserving and the Undeserving and no one has ever really known which is which or what should be done about them.

Yes, We found it very interesting too. One thing it made clear was that the distribution of welfare has always been a financial problem. For Ramsey MacDonald it contributed to his governments demise. At times it sounded familiar, with no real answers then, as there aren't today. I thought he I.H presented it very well and people in the streets reaction was interesting!!
