Chances are we won't see much of Dorothy and Dan if he stays in the army which is most likely as he has only recently received his commission. He will be out and about with or without her.

.so Shula has admitted being a liar but with no help for Helen, frustrating. P.S..don't forget Shula and Neil on Lackey Hill and being racist to Usher. Not so goody goody..... Usher, where's she gone I hear you say.?

Obviously it must be cheaper to employ people without recognisable voices. Perhaps one woman plays all new women and one man all new men. Sadly I do recognise Rob or Bob.

I think we have been given prior warning tonight that Shula is going to "fall into bed with Richard Locke" again, but they'll keep us waiting for at least a couple of years for it to come to fruition, and when Helen's story is resolved. I quite like Shula and her moral dilemmas.

A character like 'Shula' might not find you fun either Nelliemoser The great thing about the SWs is they write a very wide variety of characters and I can thoroughly accept one like Shula. She tries to be a good person - what's wrong with that? Like us all she is a flawed character but, as in today's episode, every time she goes against her conscience she pays the price so she is unlikely to change in the near future.

Dan's great and suits the job and life he has chosen for himself and I would be proud to have him for a son but you can hardly say Shula's marriage is perfect - far from it. Dan's choice of career was something she had to go along with too but it is a very worrying one for her. Who knows what the future will bring them.

As I said we are all flawed characters and, in a drama it is the juxtaposition of the different characters and how they are played out that makes it interesting. If they all behaved like any single one of us it would be very boring.

I need Joe Grundy to walk in whenever the younger people of Ambridge are chatting. 'Hello there, young Dan Hebden Lloyd' would stop me thinking I'm listening to Harrison Burns and Dorothy sounds like Alice and Phoebe.

I can't tell Toby and Rex apart either.

I think Dorothy is being set up to be another sort of stuffy, ever so good Shula.

Certainly S was a very good girl until she ruined her reputation by falling into bed with Dr Richard Locke.

Shula was for long time being terribly proper and the comments on the programs fan site were quite often scathing about her goody two shoes ways.

Many of the other characters are refreshingly normal with their own foibles but not Shula. Daniel seems to be going the same way. Too good to be true.

It would be typical for Shula to have a nearly perfect marriage with a brilliant child, sucessful at his studies and likely to have a good career. Dan seems practically perfect.

What a terribly boring couple they would make.

Suzied, For a reason I can't remember, Dorothy is named after Dorothy Dandridge.

Maybe the SWs are trying to get names as close to Dan and Doris as possible?

I think she said she was named after a film star? Or was it the Wizard of Oz? Or she said it wasn't the Wizard of Oz but everyone thought it was - cant remember. She sounds a bit of a Miss Perfect though.

If I were in Helen's position and very stressed, and all I was offered during these intensive interviews was a misereable cup of cold water I would not be very forthcoming with my story.

I am quite serious about this. A warm comforting drink would make most people feel a lot better in a situation like this than offering a glass of cold water.

It's what people did in wartime if bombed out or other disaster, people offered a person something warm and comforting to drink, is a bit of basic kindness and simple cherishing that can make people feel a whole lot better. Anna Tregorran take note.

It's like unpeeling an onion with Helen. Very gradually her protective layers are coming off but there's still a substantial central core. What keeps bugging me is Richard Locke. Why did they introduce the fact that he thought he recognised Rob and then nothing since. Surely his memory would have been jogged by now, with all the gossip and speculation. Is it anything to do with Rob's paternity test or have I just read that somewhere?

I think Helen has decided, consciously or subconsciously, that she cannot admit that baby GideonJack was conceived when she was raped by Rob.

Jennifer and David were told about the blocked culvert, was is Stepanakert who told them rob is responsible for that. Why haven't either of the mentioned this and Where is Stefan's ?!

My guess is that his poison will not work this time - everyone is getting the measure of him (I do hope)

I was fully expecting to hear the sound of Adam's fist making contact with Rob's jaw at the end of tonight's episode.
