Yes! Surprisingly fascinating and informative - I loved it!

I was also pleased to see that the talented Elaine who left quite early is doing an internship with Kate

rosesarered Wed 29-Mar-17 13:09:23

Exactly, it was a lovely programme from start to end.smile We want more like this.

Luckygirl Wed 29-Mar-17 12:53:55

I agree that the judges were spot on in their approach and seemed to really care about people - and it was lovely to see the participants freely helping each other.

I am sad it's finished too and agree Ryan was a worthy winner. Weren't all the contestants nice? It also made a change that the judges were modest, useful experts, unlike so many awful celeb judging panels where the emphasis seems to be on them. Their egos make most talent shows unwatchable.

I do hope there is another series. I too enjoyed the Sewing Bee and sincerely hope this interesting and entertaining programme isn't scrapped in favour of less cerebral tosh involving egotistical minor celebrities with loud voices and questionable talent.

I watched the final on iplayer last night. I'd managed to avoid finding out who won. It was very good, Ryan was a worthy winner and what a nice person he is. I was sorry not to see Freya in the final too she is very creative while Richard seemed short of ideas. I hope there is another series and I'm sad that the Sewing Bee has gone.

Greyduster - yes, two good programmes, it would be sad to lose them both.

Greyduster Fri 24-Mar-17 08:45:22

I agree a worthy winner in Ryan. Even after some of his tubes broke, he still managed to put together a really handsome lamp. I thought the torso exercise was very interesting. I think Richard knew from the start that the game was up this week, but I really liked him and I'm glad he made it through to the final. I hope the programme doesn't go the same way as sewing bee, which I thought was very good (and I have no interest in sewing at all!).

Luckygirl Fri 24-Mar-17 08:14:17

The rightful winner I agree.

I did feel they were scratching the bottom of the barrel to get them to work with a wheel going the wrong way!

grannypiper Fri 24-Mar-17 07:06:14

Fantastic but i think we knew all the way through who would win as he has been outstanding form the start. I am with you Lyndylou Clovers Russian Dolls were "best in show"

Lyndylou Thu 23-Mar-17 22:20:09

Great show, I've really enjoyed it. Ryan was a worthy winner although I still think Clover's Russian dolls were lovely. I hope there is another series.

merlotgran Thu 23-Mar-17 22:15:05

I'm really glad Ryan won. Apart from his dodgy Russian dolls he was the best all the way through.

MawBroon Thu 23-Mar-17 22:01:56

Ooh! Eye candy too ! blush

Worthy winner - well done Ryan!

rosesarered Thu 23-Mar-17 21:57:13

What a great final....and Ryan won! Deservably I think, he made some really good things all the way through.I have really enjoyed this series and sad it has come to an end, do hope they make more, I shall miss it, boo-hoo.

grannypiper Thu 23-Mar-17 15:41:41

I have a horrible feeling tonight's final may be the last we see of this great show, think it may go the same way as the sewing bee.hmm

BlueBelle Fri 17-Mar-17 22:35:01

I agree Ryan's was the best but I didn't like it, that head sticking out between your legs would surely put you off doing anything, and the fins either side ....nah not a toilet

I hope little Clover wins

Greyduster Fri 17-Mar-17 16:31:55

Sorry I got that wrong. The sink wasn't the final challenge - it was in episode two! Apologies (impressive though!). The final challenge was porcelain tableware.

felice Fri 17-Mar-17 16:30:45

The only thing running through my head when I saw the toilets was how to keep them clean, they may have worked but I would not fancy trying to clean them.

Greyduster Fri 17-Mar-17 16:19:38

As far as I can remember all they had to make sure was that there was a hole big enough to take the waste fitment (one person's wasn't) and that they could fit a tap/taps to it. I don't think they had to show it working.

AlieOxon Fri 17-Mar-17 11:36:06

Didn't the sink have a U-bend?

What next year, a bidet?

Greyduster Fri 17-Mar-17 10:31:27

Actually, the thing about the turtle with its head poking out reminded me of a rude joke I once heard and when I saw the finished article I couldn't get it out of my head!!

Greyduster Fri 17-Mar-17 10:29:11

Compared to last year, when the final challenge was a working sink, this must have been a nightmare. I think we're all familiar with the concept of u bends, but wouldn't have the first idea how to construct one! It was a brilliant effort by all of them. Not sure I would have liked to be the one to strength test them thoughhmm!

annodomini Fri 17-Mar-17 10:19:02

I don't know how I would feel about sitting on the loo with a turtle peeking out between my knees! However, it was a very well designed and constructed piece and deserved to be top of the class.

merlotgran Fri 17-Mar-17 09:51:11

We thought it was a really funny episode last night. I was amazed those toilets actually worked - even the one that soaked the judge.

AlieOxon Fri 17-Mar-17 09:48:36

I only just found this thread. Making the toilets was so funny! I never realised quite how much went into it though. I was surprised that they could be sat on and that three of them actually worked!
Last week - loved Clover's little set, especially the seal. No-one spotted that the biggest one was like those Chinese cats with a paw up? I've seen those in a shop and it's a lucky symbol. They were really good.

Luckygirl Fri 17-Mar-17 09:37:25

Yes - a working toilet did seem a step too far. I have my money on Ryan too - even though he was being discussed for being chucked out a couple of weeks ago. Freya was the right choice for leaving this week.
