Yes! Surprisingly fascinating and informative - I loved it!

gettingonabit Fri 03-Feb-17 20:54:23

Me too! Even if I'm not remotely interested in pottery. I liked Clover's work best, and think Cait should have gone.

Can't wait for next week.

Andyf Fri 03-Feb-17 21:10:59

Ryan (and his pottery) is my favourite up to now.

whitewave Fri 03-Feb-17 21:19:45

I think I will give it another go. The judges put me off last time, but I can't remember why

merlotgran Fri 03-Feb-17 21:19:51

Same here. Ryan is brilliant.

Oh, didn't realise this programme ( series) had started up again. Which channel and which night?

merlotgran Fri 03-Feb-17 23:25:29

BBC2 on Thursdays, roses

Flossieturner Sat 04-Feb-17 10:45:49

I love how emotional the judge gets. Like Sewing Bee, it just gets on with things without trying to be clever. Lovely contestants, judges and presenter. I don't want anyone to go.

rosesarered Sat 04-Feb-17 10:49:06

Thanks Merlot I do like to see a well thrown pot! grin

Cait redeemed herself with her owl clock, lovely design. Some of the clocks the judges liked (Ryan's and the Pot of the Week) were so dark that it was difficult to see where the hands were. Maybe telling the time wasn't that important. I do like Rich who has the huge responsibility of looking after the kilns!

BlueBelle Mon 13-Feb-17 05:24:28

I thought the owl clock was hideous I thought the winning clock( can't remember her name) and Ryan's were by far the best none of the others really worked as pieces you d want to look at in my opinion, I thought the big guy who did the industrial clock should have gone out
I did pottery for a brief time and loved it I find this programme really interesting as they do some complex stuff I liked the last series and thought the right person won I can't remember his name but he had light brown dreadlocks
I m afraid the judge who always cries gets on my pip a bit.... why cry it seems put on to me?
But I do enjoy the programme

Ankers Mon 13-Feb-17 08:06:29

Only just started watching this.

Does Rich ever make a mistake? Like drop one?!

Ankers Mon 13-Feb-17 08:09:14

The winning clock was by Elaine.

I was surprised by it as she has not been striking me as being very artistic so far.

I dont think she will win.

Luckygirl Mon 13-Feb-17 08:27:15

I do so enjoy this programme - and I know nowt about pottery. I quite like the weepy judge - he is a very skilled potter an his tears usually arrive when he sees someone do well, which is lovely.

Greyduster Mon 13-Feb-17 08:34:13

I really enjoy this. The last series was excellent. I like the unknown quantity of not knowing what is going to happen in the kiln. I agree that the man with the industrial clock let himself down. He was talking about ripping one of the corners off, but when it came down to it, I suppose it takes courage to do something that could have destabilised the whiole structure. As Elrel said, they didn't give a lot of thought to how the hands would show up on the clock face.

gettingonabit Mon 13-Feb-17 08:44:59

Good point about not seeing the hands!

Elrel Thu 16-Feb-17 21:31:55

Raku. Amazing technique! Beard hair?!
Some lovely sake sets and a riveting rice bowl challenge. Never knew pottery was so unpredictable and exciting!

merlotgran Thu 16-Feb-17 21:35:23

Those Raku glazes were fascinating.

BlueBelle Thu 16-Feb-17 21:35:28

Right person went home

Greyduster Fri 17-Feb-17 09:07:02

I really enjoyed the raku challenge; it's a very exciting technique. It was very good in the last series too, but people seemed to be better at transferring their pots to the firing this time - there weren't so many breakages. I agree that the right person went home, but Cait is living on borrowed time too, I think.

Nana3 Fri 17-Feb-17 09:39:27

I love this kind of programme, people taking part who have skills and passion. I get very engrossed and the end of the programme comes all too soon. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I have made a pot or two many years ago.

LadyGracie Fri 17-Feb-17 16:56:49

I've been going to pottery classes for over a year, I love it but there's no hope for me! I really go for company and a chat!

rosesarered Fri 17-Feb-17 20:47:29

I was hoping that the annoying blonde ( Cait...pronounced Koyt) would be given the heave ho!

rosesarered Fri 17-Feb-17 20:48:36

I hope that either Ryan, Clover or Nam will win. They all seem lovely.

merlotgran Fri 17-Feb-17 20:59:25

I think/hope Cait's on borrowed time.
