Roses: Your scenarios are uncannily apt! Yesterday, I presented beef and swede mash to 3 generations in our dining room but without a single 'wow'. They were all too busy eating, talking and (measured!) quaffing.
Later, my pushing 2 of the girls around the garden on a charity shop trike produced un-neighbourly loud screams (of delight) but again, no 'wow's.
I agree that it is unrealistic to expect people to give up 'wowing' but it would be nice if there were 'wow' free zones. I hope non-wowers won't be forced to stand outside in the cold with the smokers to find peace.
I heard a 'wow' on Bargain Hunt today. The item lost a fortune. There is some justice.
