Also....no one ever finishes a meal on tv, in fact many times they pick up a fork , have a row and leave without touching their food ,slinging a great wad of notes on the table as they rush out!

Plus Llamedos13 the women, the poor low wage earner women, always have fantastic gel nails which cost a fortune!

Where does all the money come from when the minimum wage workers wander into the Rovers and offer to buy the next round?Also who is looking after all the little kids when their mums and dads are knocking them back in the Rovers?

Reporters etc talking to camera while driving. Might as well be on mobiles while driving.

Actually lovebeigecardigans1955, I find that kind of endearing and cosy because it happens every week

On University Challenge JP always says 'it's goodbye from this uni' they say goodbye, 'and it's 'goodbye from that uni' they repeat it and finally, 'it's goodbye from me, goodbye.'
How very repetitive and clumsy sounding.
Why not just say, 'and from me, goodbye.'

Watched the last episode of "In the Dark" last night, couldn't get up off the settee to switch the light on, terrified of missing something. Couldn't believe the size of the "bump" on pregnant Detective, my DD had her 2nd baby in May, he was 2 weeks early & weighed 8lb 9oz, she was no-where near that size.

Watch Emmerdale & Corrie, not realistic but that's the world of soaps.

Quiz shows, don't get me started on "how did he/she get through auditions", I know nerves play a part but I end up shouting answers at tv, a bonus of being a widow, I don't annoy any-one else

Whenever a character has been abroad on their return to good old Blighty (often London or a lagre city) they always exaggerate the image of our unpredictable weather by showing it absolutely chucking it down with rain.

In Corrie, people in the street seem to eat most of their meals in Roy's cafe. How many people go out regularly to eat breakfast? Worse still, I have seen at least two meetings with Solicitors in there. Confidentiality is clearly of no concern!

The use of trains going past windows to link scenes in dramas (or horses on cliff tops and crashing waves if it's Poldark!)

And have you noticed that bed linen is either freshly ironed or straight out of the packet with neat fold lines on it? No bed is ever rumpled looking. Same applies to table cloths.
AND people rarely sit round a table but on three sides of it so the camera can be on the fourth side.

Leanne in Coronation Street had to move three times in as many days, with her baby. It didn't stress her in the least, and all her worldly goods were carried in one go! Another thing that bemuses me. When they end a phone call they never say goodbye.

How easy it seems that on soaps like Emmerdale and Coronation Street that there"s never any difficulty finding somewhere to live. Always seems to be a cottage or a house available either through knowing the right person or somewhere becoming vacant just at the right time. Similarly with jobs...if it were only that simple in real life.

Why do people in detective dramas NEVER put on a light when they enter a house? You just Know they're going to get coshed/bumped off.

Away from the telly and going to radio, listening to Radio Five live and Emma Barnett "interviewing" someone. She asks a question and as soon as the chap starts to answer she interrupts and talks him down. Nearly everything he tries to say she jumps in, so annoying. He has been having a go back though. She often does this with people, she is too full of her own opinion. If you're going to have someone on to talk, let them do that!
Some of the telly interviewers are the same.

No law in soaps is there, no giving tenants notice to quit and waiting until they do, no criminal injuries compensation for people who seem to get stabbed every week, no one ever thinks 'what could possibly go wrong before they do the most stupid things. People blurting out every secret or overhearing just the juicy tit bit that they need to blackmail someone....usually a 'friend'.

Cap'n Poldark never mentions me, how can that be right????? It is obvious how he feels about me, never a bloody mention, he is playing it very cool.

No one ever washes hands before touching food and all the women I know would never venture off to investigate on their own.....

On University Challenge why Why does Jeremy Paxman always say "your next set of bonuses are on... ": surely he must know it should be "set...is"!

Inane questions. A reporter asking someone whose child has been killed, lost their house through fire or whatever - "How are you feeling?" "Top of the world, best day of my life, most enjoyable time of my life" NOT!!!

Gestures made by reporters, takes my concentration away from what is being said

Although our hearing is normally ok, we do struggle to follow some American accents, and less clear voices, and quite often turn on subtitles. We can ignore them most of the time, but they are there if we find something unclear.

I gave up the soaps as they were just sleeping with each other and still live in the same village as their previous partners. Also they all go to the pub but who is looking after the kids? Watched one episode of Emmerdale the other night and they have swapped partners again!

Have to agree with all these comments, how about all the airline tickets that are booked (especially Eastenders) and not used, where do they get the money when most of them are skint! Also, Holby and Casualty, staff leave overnight - no three months notice - and new ones start the next day; I could go on forever and I spend a lot of time shouting at the screen - but still keep watching!!!!

Why do so few characters wear glasses? Surely the residents of Eastenders and Coronation Street can't afford laser eye surgery or contact lenses.
