Did anyone else watch this programme about Raine Spencer?
I was prepared to dislike her after the years of bad press, but actually I found her highly entertaining, positive, hard working, kind and loyal. I loved her mad hairdos and froufrou clothes. Obviously inherited her style from her mother.
She was treated appallingly by the disturbed unhappy Spencer children, although I agree with them that she shouldn't have sold or "refurbished" family heirlooms. However, without her their father would probably not have survived his stroke.
She was a strong character who managed to rise above all that and even became a good friend to Diana in later years.
Diana introduced her to Mohammed al Fiad who gave her an executive position at Harrods and she promptly went onto the sales floor and started working alongside the other staff.
I ended up having respect and affection for her.
