He's been ill for a long time so I'm not surprised.

RIP Brucie.

tanith Fri 18-Aug-17 16:56:02

RIP Bruce always liked him. Not unexpected news though.

Alima Fri 18-Aug-17 16:58:25

What a brilliant entertainer he was. RIP.

Lillie Fri 18-Aug-17 16:59:51

That's weird. I was wondering about him only last night when Len Goodman mentioned him on The One Show.

kittylester Fri 18-Aug-17 17:04:33

He was a real entertainer.

I saw him in panto with his first wife when I was about 9 and loved him from then!

Teetime Fri 18-Aug-17 17:05:03

89 is a good age

Cherrytree59 Fri 18-Aug-17 17:15:36

He will tap dance up the steps to heaven through the pearly gates and say...
"Nice to see you - Nice" smile

RIP Brucie

ninathenana Fri 18-Aug-17 17:28:52

Sorry I wasn't a fan but I know thousands were.

RIP Brucie. My thoughts are with your family and friends.

callgirl1 Fri 18-Aug-17 17:35:39

So sorry to hear this news. I first saw Bruce Forsyth at the Gaytime theatre in Babbacombe, during the summer of 1956, when I was 13, and have been a fan ever since.
RIP Sir Bruce

TerriBull Fri 18-Aug-17 17:42:05

He did say recently he'd been very busy being ill. RIP Brucie

What a very NICE man.
Lots of enjoyment through the decades.
A great entertainer who was really loved.

Nelliemoser Fri 18-Aug-17 17:50:32

I will be totally honest! I could not stand the man. I detest entertainers resorting to stupid poses and leering into the camera. Stupid catch phrases, such as "Nice to see you -To see you nice". Repeated ad nauseum. Is that all he was good at? pulling stupid faces to the camera to make people laugh. It is just not funny in my book.

Now Morecambe and Wise, Two Ronnies and other actual comedians are a different kettle of fish . Good timing and clever dialogue.

I agree Nelliemoser!

Anyway, RIP Bruce.

Wheniwasyourage Fri 18-Aug-17 18:02:26

While it's sad when anyone dies, I'm behind the sofa with Nelliemoser and Ana. Pm on Radio 4 was doing the usual long, over-the-top fulsome tribute to such an extent that we just turned it off, and I suspect that the BBC will be keeping it up for a while. Oh dear. As if there isn't plenty of news in the world at the moment!

Ceesnan Fri 18-Aug-17 18:06:52

Is there room behind the sofa for me too? I'm afraid he just annoyed me and I thought he should have retired years before he did.

annsixty Fri 18-Aug-17 18:07:37

Sad for his family but another one who did not really like him.
The BBC news had it as the headlines and a long and fulsome report.
He was 89, it was his time.
Barcelona has been replaced with the death of an entertainer. Not appropriate.

whitewave Fri 18-Aug-17 18:07:56

Never speak ill of the deadshock!!!

Ceesnan Fri 18-Aug-17 18:08:44

Why not?

Ana Fri 18-Aug-17 18:09:09

Why not?

nanaK54 Fri 18-Aug-17 18:11:13

RIP Sir Bruce
