Anyone else watching the second series of this. It looks like its going to be just as good as the first one.

I watched all the episodes and not sure why I did. Curiosity I think. It was a load of rubbish. Good job it’s just a drama as I wouldn’t want her as my GP.

I'm with you grannyactivist , I watched it through but nothing could persuade me to watch more.

BlueBelle Thu 05-Oct-17 14:13:35

I didn’t see that side of Tom at all Gillybob I saw a young lad totally thrown into adult chaos loving both his mum and dad and not knowing who was right and who was wrong and being totally fxxxxx up by them both, selfish people
I have a friend with a similar aged grandson who has been totally ignored in the centre of their love/ hate disinterest in anything but themselves and consequently he has turned to some ‘friends’ for company and solace and is now taking drugs and is in police trouble I thought it seemed very close to life in that part not some of the other parts though

I thought the first series was good, so I stuck with the second to the end, but if there is another series I won't be watching it.

Maybe "spoilt brat" was a bit harsh. (as I tell myself it was not real and he was a very good actor).

I agree all the characters became quite unbelievable in the end which spoilt the entire series.

Tom's mum really "mummied" him (is that even a real word?) and she seemed to enjoy knowing every little thing about him and followed his every move. The reason I called him a spoilt brat (again I admit maybe too harshly) was that he seemed to enjoy playing each parent off against the other for a while which seemed like a bit of a game (until it all got way too crazy).

I really enjoyed the first series but felt that this was just all a bit over the top.

I think the characters were too extreme in the end. I agree the boy was not a spoiled brat but a troubled teenager trying to cope with such selfish parents.

I loved the first series but the second was terrible. I ended up not liking any of the characters ,really disappointing .

Smithy Wed 04-Oct-17 20:20:14

I watched about 30 mins of one episode if this sh--- and decided it was horrible. Seems I was right. I'd rather play on my tablet than watch stuff like that.

Iam64 Wed 04-Oct-17 19:48:13

Spoiled brat - I shouldn't say a word having only watched one episode and read all the summaries and reviews but...... a 15 year old exposed to the horrors of his parents dreadful behaviour must carry the scars for the rest of his life. Awful.

BlueBelle Wed 04-Oct-17 19:45:31

I don’t think Tom was a spoilt brat ....where did that come from ? He didn’t display any bragging behaviour just trying to get through a collapsed world around him

gillybob Wed 04-Oct-17 17:13:33

Do we even care NotTooOld ?

He was a spoilt brat anyway . Oh I've just realised there are 2 threads on this , thank you BlueBelle I thought I was in some kind of parallel universe .

NotTooOld Wed 04-Oct-17 13:37:30

So where has the son gone? Do we know? Well, I don't but perhaps I missed that bit?

BlueBelle Wed 04-Oct-17 13:35:47

Gillybob there are two threads about the same thing Very confusing
I will continue watching if there is another series
There was a poll on the tv this morning which came out as a total 50/50 those who liked and those who didn’t
I don’t feel there should have been a death I think that ending was sad and leaves it open for a future series
I do think parts were far fetched the fact she walked in as he had the syringe poised was pretty naff and unlikely as were some of the other ‘coincidences’ but I enjoyed it better than Liar

gillybob Wed 04-Oct-17 13:23:39

Well they must be planning another one or they would have killed at least one (or better still all) the characters off. Including her two faced doctor friend.

gillybob Wed 04-Oct-17 13:22:18

I'm confused....I'm sure I posted about wanting her old kitchen but it seems to have disappeared. confused

I won't be watching another series that's for sure.

goldengirl Wed 04-Oct-17 12:42:37

A very OTT ending. If the husband had taken the drugs would the wife as a doctor been blamed - her fingerprints would have been all over them. The destruction of the boy's world was painful to watch - far more than his father's and mother's. I won't watch another series; it doesn't even need another series in my view.

tribune Wed 04-Oct-17 12:25:28

I very much enjoyed the first series but have struggled a bit with this series. I find it hard to sympathise with her when she has gone so far. The first episode I didn't enjoy at all but I am soldiering through them (often wondering why I am bothering)

Lillie Wed 04-Oct-17 12:02:15

Ooops, I've just seen there are two threads running, so I'll post my critique again on this one which seems more current.

I was expecting someone to die, so the ending wasn't very dramatic in my opinion. The husband was despicable behaving like that in front of his son, I wanted him to suffer the most but got the impression a lot of his grief was put on. Dr. Foster herself ended up a tortured soul and it wasn't really surprising the poor boy left after all that.

Why was she designing a new kitchen for the house when the one she already had looked amazing?!

Alima Wed 04-Oct-17 11:29:25

Yes I know Ana. It was a back- handed way of agreeing with Maggiemaybe. (Why do I bother? Wanders off muttering).

Ana Wed 04-Oct-17 11:06:40

He didn't go to school - he ran away!

Alima Wed 04-Oct-17 10:54:01

Yes, it did end as a bit of a damp squib didn't it. Felt a bit cheated at the end but at least he was in time for the school bus!

harrigran Wed 04-Oct-17 10:37:49

Very disappointing. If they make another series I will not be watching it.

Maggiemaybe Wed 04-Oct-17 09:46:16

Well, one critic said this finale was like a piece of homework that a child had rushed to finish in 10 minutes on the school bus. I agree.

Blinko Wed 04-Oct-17 08:40:18

Oh gawd, I knew there was a reason I haven't watched this. Not to my taste at all. I'm more of a Lewis, Midsomer Murders, Morse and Father Brown fan. Oh and Grantchester, of course. With the lovely James Norton.

BlueBelle Wed 04-Oct-17 08:35:20

Well good for him until you think of the realities of a 15 year old on the street with no grandparents to turn to
