Graham Norton interviews Hilary Clinton

It was horrifying to hear the Russian manipulation of social media and how emails from her staff were hijacked and sabotaged. Interesting to hear how the French learned from her experiences and applied the lessons she had to learn the hard way to their own media canvassing.
She was charming and professional. It would have been so much better to have a grown up in the White House.

DH watched it and I was in the room but quite frankly I can't stand the sycophantic g*t.

The only comment I can make until I have watched the interview with HC,
is having been First Lady she knows how the American political system inside out.
She will already have met other world leaders and know how to communicate with out making an arse of herself or her country.
And I don't think she would be trading insults with N Korea.
Or have her hand hovering over the Red Button.
We would probably not have seen the rise of the KKK and the other so called white supremacy.

I would guess it was a bit of both, and much else besides - she had a lot to lose, both personally and politically, if she had not stayed with him.

I am prepared to bet that there were some pretty fiery conversations in the Clinton household!

I wasn't blaming Hillary for her husband's misdemeanours but I do question whether it was a case of respecting her marriage vows or protecting political ambition.

I think it was on the world service but there was also a very good good interview with Jane Fonda on at the weekend. She is an excellent speaker.

The interviewer Stephen Sakur was also welll prepared and a good listener IMO.

I know little about HC, but on principle I do not think that a woman should be blamed for her husband's sexual misdemeanours.

I don't have sufficient knowledge of American politics to form an opinion on Hilary Clinton however, speaking to my American friends they tell me they cannot forgive her for her actions before and after the attack on the Embassy in Benghazi. They also point out that when it became clear that Bill was a serial philanderer she used her position to attack and discredit those accusing him.

As for Graham Norton, I can't watch him after the unpleasant and distasteful "joke" he made when one of the Bee Gees died - resulting in one of the surviving brothers threatening to punch him if he ever met him face to face.

She's done nothing wrong compared to Trump. Why mention Hillary's husband's shenanigans? Trump himself has been up to all sorts of sexual nonsense but somehow that's OK merlotgran?!

She kept to her marriage vows, surely she cannot be condemned for that?

I have just watched this - thank you for flagging it up. As you rightly say, he listened - what a rare treat in an interviewer - well done Graham. And what she had to say was impressive.

This was an excellent interview. It was hard to believe that voters didn’t warm to her. Whether you saw it or not, there is an extended version of it on iplayer.

Graham Norton is a very intelligent man, mostly misjudged by people as a lightweight which he certainly is not.
I have not seen the interview yet, I look forward to " catching up" with it. Thank you for posting.

It's a million times more painful to compare her to Trump. It's still incomprehensible that somehow he's president and she's not. What a massive American own goal!
