Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

I missed the funeral - we're a house of illness currently unfortunately. I will try and listen at lunch time tomorrow.

Chewbacca Wed 21-Mar-18 19:44:41

Glad that the Grundy's refused to accept the apology; Alice's behaviour was beyond acceptable and certainly and she's still acting as though she's the victim.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 19:45:51

You do seem to need to show off your education Maw. I expect you know that's what you have been doing. I did say I was as happy to get back on track as you might be but you added some extra animals so I thought I should acknowledge them.

I see that this hasn't yet ended - LG has come back or, as she might say "dropped in on this thread", one LG, I have been coming on since I joined GN so I wouldn't call that dropping in but there you go. I will end when you all do and will happy to do so but when one drops it another picks up the baton. Boring - very.

Ah ha. Alice has mentioned her colleague at work again - maybe she didn't kill Matt. I must admit I still can't see Nic doing it or rather anyone could have done it but I can't see her keeping quite like that. I could see her keeping quite for someone else though. Is there a side of her character I have missed?

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 19:53:47

Just found this written by the actress on the BBC Archer's page when checking how Nic spells Nic.

The episode in which Nic slapped George was a pivotal moment for the character. Things were never going to be the same after that single action. It was a real catalyst for change for Nic and the culmination of months of work.

I remember spending ages reading and rethinking the script to get it right. The scenes were beautifully written and really highlighted how emotionally fragile and volatile she had become.

I had forgotten her slapping George.

GGMK2 despite what you may think, and indeed post, I am the last person on here to "attack" anyone, having had some charming GN member print off a post and send it through the mail to my boss!

I'm very sorry to say this, but it seems to me that if there is any "attacking" carried out on this thread, you are the one doing it.

PLEASE take a deep breath, have a cup of tea, a glass of wine, whatever, and read back through.

You have been unkind/judgmental/confrontational on quite a few occasions.

I have a feeling that if you do respond to this post, you will accuse me of either attacking or patronising you. sad

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:10:18

You have been unkind/judgmental/confrontational on quite a few occasions.

And that isn't personal and offensive?

For the second time I have tried to bring us back to The Archers but you have to have your say, prove to yourself your are right. Why can't you stop and move on? What is driving you I wonder?

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:10:59

your you're

Chewbacca Wed 21-Mar-18 20:14:36

You have been unkind/judgmental/confrontational on quite a few occasions.
And that isn't personal and offensive?

Only if it's untrue.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:17:07

So we continue with the tag team. Noticeable very similar to those who like to "have a go" on the politics threads. I really care about this thread you obviously don't mind wrecking it.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:18:29

It's an just an opinion Chewbacca and it was both personal an offensive.

merlotgran Wed 21-Mar-18 20:26:23

Graces, You jumped on my back two days ago after a perfectly reasonable comment I made about Doc Locke not having much to do.

You have been like a terrier with a bone ever since especially as some other regular Archers posters have dared to disagree with you.

phoenix returned to this thread this evening after possibly being at work today so she has every right to join in and comment.

I think you need to step back.

phoenix Wed 21-Mar-18 20:29:08

I object to your "tag team" reference, I am my own person, make my own comments, and feel no need to be part of a "team" except at work.

Now, yes, bit fed up with Harrison & Fallon plugging Sport Relief, and wondering where the Alice storyline is going.

Also, the mantle of Sainthood seems to have been passed from Jill (oh, just made some flapjacks and sound as if I've been goosed) to Pat (I'll just see to Henry, check if Jack can actually talk yet, milk the goats and then nip of to the homeless shelter at the Elms and do some patronising)

grin

merlotgran Wed 21-Mar-18 20:34:05

Don't forget the vegetable stew, phoenix

When Pat told Helen one of the regulars at the Elms suggested something else should be in there I yelled, 'MEAT'

grin

phoenix Wed 21-Mar-18 20:38:11

You're right Merlot, that had slipped my mind grin

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:43:56

Merlot, I wasn't even replying to your post there were a couple on the previous page that were just about characters people didn't like. Even so all I said was:

This is not real. They are characters. Why listen if you don't enjoy it? I am stunned that people bother.

Which is pretty innocuous unless you are determined to take offence. Since then we have had these sick post after post. All people piling in to have their pinch or punch at one person - just like small children. I have said before and you should believe me by now, I will not be bullied. If you want to get this thread pulled you are all going the right way about it and how ridiculous for such a simple, inoffensive, original post on an Archers thread.

phoenix Wed 21-Mar-18 20:48:45

You don't seem able to see it, do you GGMK2 ?

You complained that the thread had gone off topic, the 2 posts prior to yours were absolutely back on The Archers, who went off topic?

MawBroon Wed 21-Mar-18 20:52:56

Even so all I said was

This is not real. They are characters. Why listen if you don't enjoy it? I am stunned that people bother

confused

Not quite all...hmm
Fortunately previous posts naming names, bandying aspersions are all there for anybody to read and draw their own conclusions..

GracesGranMK2 Wed 21-Mar-18 20:57:02

I have reported these posts. Let GN sort it out. If it was so awful you could have done the same pages ago.

Scribbles Wed 21-Mar-18 23:33:17

I used to enjoy this thread when I occasionally dropped in. After ploughing through the posts from the last 2 or 3 days, I have decided to stop reading.

phoenix Thu 22-Mar-18 00:19:30

I despair sad

Marydoll Thu 22-Mar-18 00:27:02

Such a shame that a light hearted thread has been spoiled once again.
I too despair. sad

Gerispringer Thu 22-Mar-18 06:06:50

I’m giving up. Must start a new Archers thread #archersfans

Iam64 Thu 22-Mar-18 08:24:17

Hey - the Archers thread isn't light hearted! It's Real Life with all that goes on in RL. I love the Archers, love talking about the Archers, loved the Helen-Rob storyline, love Jill and her baking, feel for Shula and Alistair who were never quite right for each other, wish Lizzie could all in love with one of Nigel's old giddy pals (now settled, rich and sensible of course). I hope Nic didn't run Mat over but it's looking that way. I wish the Alice storyline would speed up a bit.
I wish there were more dogs in the Archers. Any village has numerous dogs, there would certainly be endless numbers of spaniels and Labradors plus sheep dogs on the farms. The New Houses would have poodle crosses, left alone in the house all day and therefore developing behavioural and emotional problems. The village would need a Dog Whisperer - that would introduce an interesting new character.
It's the only Soap I can enjoy these days since Corrie went west.
