Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

Good idea. We could bring Nigel back , he may have been too long in the shower.

DoraMarr Mon 24-Sept-18 08:05:20

Yes! Bring Nigel back! I always thought the scriptwriters missed a trick in making him die. Given that everyone in Ambridge is always in rude health, with even nonagenarians gardening without even a twinge of arthritis ( I don’t count Joe’s opportunistic farmer’s lung,) they could have had a disabled character confined to a wheelchair, and explored how that affects the lives of everyone around. Lizzie could have expressed her frustration at getting support and at being a carer, Nigel could have shown how he had to adjust his life, and there would have been lots of other opportunities to portray disability, both positive and negative. They handled Jack’s dementia sensitively, and they could have done the same for Nigel.

Well it is a case of What Would Nigel Do! Let's hope Freddie gets to Usha and the Ellis confession is made. Perhaps we are judging those scriptwriters too harshly and they will deal with this well. However GransNetters for scriptwriters would certainly be best grin

Well it will all end happily methinks. Freddie will spill the beans, incriminating the other chap (forgotten his name) and get off with a suspended sentence. Kenton will hear in court that it wasn't just a one off for Freddie, and that Harrison actually did him a favour and peace will be restored with Fallon. Have I missed when Russ was summoned to the hearing at school? It's all gone quiet with Lily so I suppose they're saving the fun for later? I am looking forward to reality dawning for Lily.

I think horrible Hannah is planning to get her feet under the table at Bridge Farm. She can do no wrong in Johnny's eyes and now Tom is dangling.

Helen will not be amused.

Lazigirl Wed 26-Sept-18 20:32:00

Yes she is horrible Merlot. I can't remember her when she was in before.

NfkDumpling Thu 27-Sept-18 07:17:57

Oh, poor Johnny. There’s going to be a big falling out there.

NfkDumpling Thu 27-Sept-18 19:16:27

Hannah is such a tart!!

Lazigirl Fri 28-Sept-18 09:30:29

What's Tom then Nfk?

merlotgran Fri 28-Sept-18 11:44:27

Where is Tom going to find the labour to plant all these trees?

AyjayF Fri 28-Sept-18 13:47:28

I thought the scenes with Freddie + Elizabeth were really touching last night.

Scribbles Fri 28-Sept-18 16:36:31

Sorry, Ayjay, but I thought they were nauseating. Elizabeth is far too forgiving of Freddie's criminality and, never mind losing her alcohol licence, could well go to jail herself for contempt of court if anyone finds out about Freddie being at L. Loxley.

LullyDully Fri 28-Sept-18 19:20:59

That is the right verdict in my mind. He should grow up a bit and realise his advantages. Silly boy that it came to this.

grumppa Fri 28-Sept-18 19:21:18

Well done the judge.

midgey Fri 28-Sept-18 19:33:40

Have to say I wasn’t expecting that!

NfkDumpling Fri 28-Sept-18 19:45:55

Freddie got what he deserved. A year seems very reasonable considering. I wonder what he’d have got though if he’d stuck to his lie of it being a one off.

(Tom is an unfaithful, easily led opportunist Lazigirl - and a tart)

Lazigirl Fri 28-Sept-18 20:48:25

I wasn't expecting it either. I don't know why the judge didn't take his new statement into consideration. Perhaps I take TA too seriously but I feel so sorry for Elizabeth. None of us have control of what happens with our kids/grandkids.
Nfk glad you're not discriminating smile

phoenix Fri 28-Sept-18 23:52:21

Well, we can't have another unplanned pregnancy, but perhaps an STD is on the horizon?

NfkDumpling Sat 29-Sept-18 06:02:57

I think you’re right Phoenix. There’s been a bit of publicity lately about the rise in numbers of young people with STDs.

LullyDully Sun 30-Sept-18 08:19:55

Not a tart. I thought we were above blaming the woman for having sexual wants these days. She is however rather an unpleasant person in her treatment of Emma.

NfkDumpling Sun 30-Sept-18 08:28:14

They’re both putting their sexual wants above their friendship for Johnny. I think that makes them both tarts. I’m not disciminating!!

merlotgran Sun 30-Sept-18 08:36:18

They're not that young though. According to the character profiles on TA website, Tom is 38 and Hannah probably younger but very worldly wise.

The casual sex - just for fun storyline has already been done with Pip and Toby so surely this won't result in another baby?

I find the whole thing cringeworthy but I bet they end up together and there's a power struggle between Helen and Horrible Hannah.

merlotgran Sun 30-Sept-18 20:38:01

I'm so glad the Flower and Produce show is finally over. Every year it's the most boring storyline and they drag it out for weeks.

I hope Kenton apologises to Harrison and Fallon.

LullyDully Sun 30-Sept-18 21:01:08

Au but the panto is also so boring .

Luckygirl Tue 02-Oct-18 21:57:05

Iddeed there does seem to be a bit of repetition going on - apart from the Flower and Produce Show of course - and the Christmas show - and the harvest etc.

As someone has pointed out we have already had the friends with benefits theme; and there seem to be an awful lot of folk in Ambridge who finish up in prison: Susan, Helen and now Freddie.
