Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

Justin wanted to talk, he wants the wedding to go ahead. Rocky waters will continue

Elrel Mon 11-Dec-17 10:11:56

I think Ruby will bring them together!
Emma is now a strong character working hard for her family. She may have been sharp with Johnny but would have opened his eyes to other people's struggles.

SPOILER ALERT.....I have here the Radio Times for a few weeks ahead. As far as Lilian and Justin are concerned, we need to watch this space - all may not be lost!

Lazigirl Mon 11-Dec-17 16:47:28

Thought so!

Elrel Mon 11-Dec-17 16:50:14

Well, it's Christmas ...

Lazigirl Mon 11-Dec-17 16:51:43

Can't see Pip going through with termination either - so happy ending all round - depending on your point of view of course!

MawBroon Mon 11-Dec-17 17:41:52

Couldn’t she just give the baby to Ian and Adam? (???behind sofa)

Iam64 Mon 11-Dec-17 19:44:45

No MawBroon, Pip would be ill advised to "just give the baby to Ian and Adam". Mind you, it would make inheritance at the various farms even more complex and interested.

I don't want to offend anyone because I know termination isa difficult subject but -I do wish the Archers would replicate real life occasionally. Can there not be a single pregnancy or desire to be pregnant that isn't fraught with complications. I doubt the Archers is ready to have a termination story where the individual gets on with their life without major trauma and without everyone in Ambridge knowing about it. Just recalled Elizabeth did have a termination and did get on with her life.
I suppose I just wish they hadn't imposed an unplanned pregnancy on Pip and Toby. Or indeed, on David and Ruth, poor parents, full of hope that Pip would fall in love with the farmer and live happily ever after

Oh Allan! - I thought you were a saint!

Elrel Tue 12-Dec-17 20:55:26

Good for him but the show must go on!
Never expected the twins' 18th to bring a tear to my eye, they said such lovely things to Elizabeth after the skating. Not sure Freddie will be able to resist the temptation of that valuable antique ring however!

Lazigirl Tue 12-Dec-17 22:26:05

Now these valuables are out of the bank who's going to foot the insurance bill I wonder? I'd like the Gwen John painting.

phoenix Tue 12-Dec-17 23:56:38

Bet you a pound to a pinch of you know what that in episodes to come, Freddy will sell or pawn the ring.

Lazigirl I have a book of poems by Rupert Brooke with a sketch of him by Gwen John in the frontispiece. I think. Must check in the morning!

Surely Shula should know that we're not in the Wild West. In the UK we tack up not saddle up!

Iam64 Fri 15-Dec-17 08:37:17

I missed last night's episode merlotgran but, the script writers always get the equine related discussions wrong. We tack up and have specific names for pieces of tack. During the silly bridle snap incident when Saint Rob rescued poor Shula, the use of names for tack was wrong. Additionally, the idea of Shula going out for a quiet hack, never mind a hectic hunt, without first checking every single piece of tack is impossible to believe.

Elrel Fri 15-Dec-17 19:42:42

ill not comment on tonight's developments as many GNs listen to the omnibus!

chelseababy Fri 15-Dec-17 20:35:49

Well Elrel I will just say so predictable!

starbird Sun 17-Dec-17 19:54:20

So it looks like a winter break for Lilian, married or not.

chelseababy Sun 24-Dec-17 14:02:12

Well in the end the predictable didn't happen! I was half expecting (hoping) Matt would turn up or Justin be arrested for attempted murder. Still it was an unexpected twist.

Elrel Tue 26-Dec-17 23:24:52

Chelsea - when Tony said he’d babysit the boys so Tom and Johnny could go to the pub I felt a chill down my spine! I dreaded Rob turning up!
But no - phew!!

chelseababy Wed 27-Dec-17 15:07:02

Yes Elrel I said to OH - all we need now is Rob to knock on the door ....

midgey Wed 27-Dec-17 16:45:33

I thought Peggy as taking a long time bringing the gravy from the kitchen.....I thought she was going to break a hip on the greasy floor!

eGJ Thu 28-Dec-17 17:24:11

Linda and Scarlett; whatever next? And is Lexi about to offer to be a surrogate? Plot losing going on with scriptwriters I think!?

EthelJ Fri 29-Dec-17 16:39:59

Can someone remind me what the situation is with the Dower House? It was in Trust for Lilian , then Matt sold it to Justin, does that mean that Lilian got the proceeds from the sale? I'm just trying to work out if she will be left with nothing if her non married relationship with Justin doesn't work out.

Nelliemoser Mon 01-Jan-18 21:51:20

I a really worried about Jack Titcheners development.
he was born in May 2016 so he is now about 18 mnths.
I heard him over Christmas gurgling and squealing like a small baby.
He should be at least vocalising in a much more mature way than he is. Have any of the Archers noticed?

merlotgran Mon 01-Jan-18 21:54:37

No they haven't. Any more than they've noticed that Henry, who is 7 tomorrow, still sounds like a four year old.
