Have Netflix on my iPad and seem spoilt for choice looking for something good to watch. ( Waiting for the Crown to start). What's the best thing you've enjoyed on Netflix? I need some good recommendations please.

I have just finished watching Godless and it was brilliant.

Thanks for suggestions. I like episodes of old comedy series to fill the odd half hour.....the IT Crowd, Getting On, Lead Balloon, Yes Minister.
I also just rewatched the original House of Cards trilogy. My husband couldn't believe I didn't remember the plot...advantages of a bad memory!
We also enjoy Designated Survivor.

Nothing will ever equal Breaking Bad for me... it was outstandingly compelling. But I love House of Cards, (although it just isn't going to be the same without Kevin Spacey, naughty though he apparently has been, he's a favourite actor of mine.) I also liked Ozark very much, and Bloodline. And loking forward to the next series ofThe Crown.
Oh, and Better Call Saul.

Bloodline - absolutely gripping and set in the sunshine of Florida. Also Ozark and the Crown

The Crown, series 2 is about to start and I can’t wait. All series of Line Of Duty, 4 I think, all series of The Killling (American version starring Joel Kinnerman) and a documentary Making A Murderer which gripped me from start to finish. Netflix is the best thing we ever bought and such value for money. I also love to watch Gavin and Stacey.

I will try Mindhunter, it sounds my kind of thing.

Alias Grace is well made and gripping. It's adapted from the Margaret Atwood novel.

I also like Stranger Things, but have to watch it when DH is busy - he doesn't get it!!

Dianic Fri 01-Dec-17 10:31:21

Happy Valley
Shetland
Code Black - excellent hospital drama!
Line of Duty - although I think that was iPlayer and Youtube

Currently watching Sean Bean in Legends

I love DC and Marvel, so have watched all the films! I also love Scandi-Noir, so watched The Killing and The Bridge and another I can't remember the name of!

Netflix is really good now... smile

Breaking Bad, the absolute best to date.
But Scandal, The Good Wife and Grace and Frankie also very entertaining

I also love The Crown, can't wait for the next series.
Will give The Good Wife a try.

Hi tessagee, have a look at this link:- www.roku.com/en-gb/how-it-works
Mine cost around £30 - cheaper than a smart TV!
There are other devices that do the same such as a Chromecast and Apple TV but the Roku works fine for us.

tessagee Thu 30-Nov-17 16:45:57

Nana, please what is a Roku? I'd like to try Netflix too but have only got Freeview on TV. If possible I'd like to watch it on my TV rather than laptop which has a smaller screen.

NanaMacGeek Thu 30-Nov-17 15:32:14

Hi Smithy, we don't have a smart TV but plug a Roku into a HDMI port on our TV. This gives us access to Netflix as well as iPlayer, ITV hub etc.

Oh thanks, some great suggestions here.
Have written a list so I can work my way through them. Looking forward to seeing something new as getting a bit bored with regular TV offerings.

But enjoyed them.

I have Netflix on the TV and on my tablet. Wouldn't be without it now. It's better than the Sky movie channels.

Tanith, try these: The Cobbler starring Adam Sandler, he's also in The Do over which is very funny. The Martian starring Ben Affleck about an astronaut left behind. Today's Special about an Indian chef taking over the family business. I was doubtful about some of them, shut enjoyed them all.

It’s about £7 per month, you can get 30days free trial. It’s easy .to cancel not that I’d want to. We watch it more than regular TV.

morethan2 Tue 28-Nov-17 18:07:12

How much does it cost and is it easy to cancel?

Mamie Tue 28-Nov-17 18:03:33

I enjoyed Designated Survivor and I quite like the Miss Fisher detective series (nice frocks).

suzied Tue 28-Nov-17 17:55:58

You have to sign up to it, you can get first 30 days free trial. Have a look at their website, you need a smart TV otherwise you could watch it on a laptop or computer.

Smithy Tue 28-Nov-17 16:20:53

Excuse my ignorance, but how do I get Netflix? I've never had anything but free view, can you get just Netflix on it's own? It sounds Iike something I might watch.

I have been watching Mindhunter too, it is interesting seeing how offender profiling was developed, how it started, and the difficulties in getting people to believe in it.
