It was very moving and rather astonishing that this new method seems to be getting results that have not been seen before.
It seems to be very much a matter of breathing properly and the emotional suppport and confidence given by the mentors who had themselves been stammers.
I can relate to this a bit. I am in a couple of choirs now and sometimes I still can't quite get the notes out when I am trying to practice a piece at home. I get nervous and my breathing "goes to pot". A lot of this depends on how I am feeling at the time if I am feeling tense that has a bad effect on me.
The two choirs I am in now both have excellent conductors and my confidence is getting very much better. Not sure I would do any solo stuff though.
My dad spent 40 years mastering his craft, and last week someone half his age told him how to eat.😠
