I've never watched The Blair Witch project because I know it would stay with me forever and re emerge when I'm walking home late at night etc. Can't watch Poltergeist because it's about a child being taken, although I am part way through Stranger Things [have to stick with it to find out what happens]. I understand The Dark is even worse. Fine with Game of Thrones but hated the sado [sp]masochistic violence in Outlander; wish I'd never watched that. The Charlton Heston Omega Man stayed with me for years and I couldn't go into the garden after dark because of it. My kids think I'm silly being so scared by The Exorcist, which they just think of as being 'funny'
. Didn't help that I once lived in a shared house next to some steps that were just like the ones in the film; and we did used to do séances when we were teenagers and weird things did happen. I can watch Alien, because I know I will never be alone in a spaceship. I can watch animals being killed as I realise the other animals have to eat [although I struggled with the one about the little octopus recently]. I'm never going to watch Tarka the Otter again and I think generations of children/adults have never got over seeing Bambi [sob].
Fundamental reset for social care?
What did you you think you would have by your current age that you don't?
