Ordeal by Innocence

The Miss Marple version is on ITV3 on 4 May at 8pm. Don't know how it ends but was Marple in the book?

I've just caught up with this and, although a lot of people have apparently complained about the ending being changed, the language used, etc. etc., I thought it was pretty good.

I wish they would take more care with the casting. I was amazed to find the maid was his mother because she looked about the same age as the other women. I'd thought that perhaps she was another adopted child who was relegated to the kitchen when she didn't come up to expectations.

What's it worth to keep schtum?

Yes Ilovecheese that occurred to me and they can rest assured that when they read the book it will be a whole new experience.

Christie fans are up in arms because the ending was changed, but the Christie estate is probably pleased because people will be buying the book now to find out who 'really' did it!

I guessed some of it-but not the final twist. A great entertaining evening watch.

Some of the lighting was so murky it was difficult to see anything coming.

Off to join a morning whist club today then do my shopping so i might watch this this afternoon as we have yet another dark deary wet day ahead and can't get out in the garden.
Normally i enjoy Agatha Christie stories so it will be perfect i hope.

Yeslemongrove very old fashioned of me I know, just hate well leafed books being messed about with. If they want to put on a period crime drama why not write their own, if they can. Look forward? to changed endings to Dickens, Austen etc.

Just as an aside - can I have the nuclear bunker when they've done with it - things are looking dicey in the real world.

Absolutely awful adaption of a period book. The swearing is all wrong and to change the end - I am speechless (for once). In the book the Doc is a certain type of Englishman gentleman and nothing to do with Atomic bombs - just dreadful.

Good acting and dialogue and all the period details right.

All the ‘children’ are adopted.
They all love their Father, but most of them hated their Mother ( who was murdered.)Except Mary, who wanted her Mother ( adoptive Mother) to love only her.
The ghastly Philip has now been done in.....or has he?Could be a suicide made to look like a murder.
The ‘doctor’ may be the next victim.
