Doesn't it make you think we have no chance with this calibre of people wanted to go into business. Blimey I'm more clued up than they are!
I tend only to dip into the series but love the interviews - Claude is brilliant...he can detect a fraud at 500 paces.

Having watched this year's set of morons perform, the programme is well past its sell-by date.

I have got quite bored with this programme, tend to record each week, see what they are supposed to be doing, then fast forward until the Board Room, but did watch the whole of the interviews week.
Now, we know that they have to hand in resumes of their business plan right at the beginning, so I am certain, that the ones who are going to be in at the end are already well planned by the shows Producers.
Did think this years lot were particularly bad. Compare them to many of the people on Dragons Den, none of them would survive a couple of minutes in there with their lies, lack of knowledge and planning and vastly inflated expectations.
Think it is time to pull the plug on this programme and Alan Sugar can prepare to leave UK as he has said should there be a Corbyn government elected!!! Bye, bye!!!!

but it does sound more far-reaching if he wanted to tell porkies.

ps and I know Australasia doesn't include Asia before anyone picks me up on that grin

I think it's the funniest programme on telly. Yelling, 'stupid moron' at the screen can be quite therapeutic. grin

It was Joseph Valente---2015.

I haven't watched this series at all so I don't know who's who.

I do remember one series where right from the start I'd been willing this particular young man to win and he did. He was no " scholar " just a broad cockney who was a hard worker and if my memory serves me right he'd been setting up a plumbing business. A real winner not a " plastic " knowall. Someone who had common sense unlike his competitors.

It's time this programme was taken off. Seems to be a vehicle for the most selfish and silly people I have seen. Alan Sugar &co are well past their sell by date.

Is Australia in Asia?
Now, if he'd said Australasia!
Seriously, he seems to be a serial liar fantasist. I've forgotten his name, sorry.

I did wonder if Alan Sugar might just declare that he's not wasting his £250,000 this year.
I missed the end, something went wrong with the recording so have no idea who has gone through.

Someone said something to me yesterday which I remembered when I watched this programme. She said she worries that the younger generation are told that 'they can be anything they want to be'. As an ex-teacher, she said 'No, they cannot be anything they want to be. They can strive to be the best they can, do the best they can, but you cannot be something you don't have the intelligence or talent to be'.

These young people look astonished when flaws are pointed out in their 'business plans' ie fantasies.

My DD used to be a partner in one of the big international financial recruitment firms and I remember asking her why the contestants were so gormless and why nobody of any real talent applied. She said that nobody worth their salt would take that amount of time out of their career path for a “mere” £250k investment.
Explains it.

I think they are chosen because they will make good to rather than be good business men/ women. £250,000 is a drop in the ocean compared to what Alan Sugar makes out of this programme .
If you want to see hardworking , talented, young people who put their talent on the line week after week just watch Professional Masterchef. Astounding talents, every single one! Matthew to win!

I love interview week, it is very entertaining. I'm always left speechless by some of the things they say and do and I have a soft spot for Claude, he seems like he's such a sweetie under the hard exterior.

I haven’t watched the interviews yet but I am just watching the background programme on the finalists and I am quite impressed by their determination and work ethic. I have had to reassess my opinion of them.

merlotgran Wed 12-Dec-18 22:12:10

Sian probably has a plan B. If she doesn't win next week she can still earn a fortune as Meghan Markle's stunt double. grin

BlueBelle Wed 12-Dec-18 22:07:44

I agree each year they seem to get worse how they have even cooked a dinner I ll never know They sprout the words though blimey they are full of it

MawBroon Wed 12-Dec-18 21:35:44

???

merlotgran Wed 12-Dec-18 21:33:52

Is Australia in Asia? grin grin

MawBroon Wed 12-Dec-18 21:30:08

I am speechless at the ignorance and naīvete of these young people.
Also their economy with the truth.
I wouldn’t hire them for Bob-a-job week let alone invest £250,000
