Did anyone see this , I've just watched it on i player ? My word, it was tense. Beautifully filmed in Amsterdam with the wonderful Julien Baptiste back in action .

SueDonim Mon 18-Mar-19 15:08:58

to close

I'm not one for watching this type of tv but I've rather enjoyed Baptiste. I have close my eyes at the gruesome bits but it's intrigued me.

No contest between the two Toms for me, it has to be Hiddlebum! The other Tom is too short for my taste.

Well I like it. Poor old Edward who wanted to do some good. SPOILER ALERT Who threw Constantine? My money is on Kim's boyfriend. I don't suppose it costs that much to hitch a ride across the Channel if you don't ask who/or what else is on board.

Is anyone else still watching this? I’m finding it increasingly daft, what with the far-from-secret safe houses with no curtains or blinds, the constant popping back and forth over borders, the pantomime villains and folk on the run and tormented police officers and frequent clandestine meetings. Why don’t they just give the money back to Constantine? Not that there’ll be much left after the farmer bought a car, the dentist paid for a week of debauchery and Edward hired a boat to get him across the Channel....

hmm I think I prefer Tom Hollander for looks as well, the other Tom H. is too pretty (prettier than me!).

trisher Tue 05-Mar-19 18:03:34

I think if you go for looks it would be Tom Hiddlestone all the way but Tom Hollander has a bit of a twinkle in his eye that makes me think he would be more fun! grin

trisher Mon 04-Mar-19 14:43:36

Luckygirl I thought that was a bit confusing but was obviously a way to introduce the woman from Europol. (when did it stop being Interpol???)

Alima Mon 04-Mar-19 14:27:28

Moobs Jalima, moobs.

Jalima1108 Mon 04-Mar-19 14:26:08

ooh, I don't know
the best things come in small packages
wink

Alima Mon 04-Mar-19 14:23:44

That does make sense. Tom Hollander really doesn’t have what it takes without the bottom. Thank you Jalima.

Jalima1108 Mon 04-Mar-19 14:22:13

although he was also in The Night Manager as Lance Corcoran (Corky) for which he won a BAFTA.

Jalima1108 Mon 04-Mar-19 14:20:58

No, that was Tom Hiddleston Alima

Tom Hollander played a hapless vicar opposite Olivia Coleman in 'Rev.'

Alima Mon 04-Mar-19 14:18:04

Is it Tom Hollander’s bottom on display in The Night Manager? Do wonder as the TH in this is very uninspiring. Pasty face, moobs, the lot. Do like the actor who plays Baptiste even though I cannot pronounce his name. (Forgive rambling post but have come over all of a dither since I read that they are going to do another Last Tango in Halifax. And Happy Valley.)

Jalima1108 Mon 04-Mar-19 14:01:39

Oh, thank you trisher
perhaps I only had forty winks then.

Gonegirl Mon 04-Mar-19 12:59:19

I've got to watch yesterday's one again. I'm beginning to lose it. Do love Tom Hollander. And the actor who plays Baptiste.

trisher Mon 04-Mar-19 12:58:31

Jalima1108 you didn't see it. She told Baptiste when she was in the laundromat-when she had escaped to!

Luckygirl Mon 04-Mar-19 12:40:06

I am trying to get my head round who the brain-damaged young man in a hospital was at the beginning. confused

sodapop Mon 04-Mar-19 12:00:23

Suspend disbelief Trisher Tom H is really good in this series I think. I'm enjoying it gory bits and all.

Jalima1108 Mon 04-Mar-19 11:58:19

that must have happened when I nodded off!
I'm not finding this as riveting as The Missing.

trisher Mon 04-Mar-19 10:43:54

SPOILER ALERT!
Did anyone else find Mme Baptiste's escape a bit unbelievable? She out ran that fit young man? He would have grabbed her before she reached the stairs.
Still it is great. Tom Hollander has flipped from good to bad and back again!

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Feb-19 23:30:18

SPOILER ALERT!

Tom Hollander is also another actor I like, but clearly not all he seems
I kept thinking of him as the vicar but just knew …...

lemongrove Mon 18-Feb-19 22:37:52

Have recorded this, so pleased it’s good.

Jane43 Mon 18-Feb-19 21:45:09

What a charismatic actor he is and Tom Hollander is wonderful too. I’m sure the story will have lots of twists and turns. I hope it is as good as Series Two of The Missing which was amazing with Keeley Hawes and David Morissey As the parents of the missing girl.

trisher Mon 18-Feb-19 18:19:35

Great to see Baptiste again. Very exciting and Tom Hollander is such a good actor
Bit annoyed that it clashes with Endeavor and Traitors. Watch one, record one and watch the other on catch up !!!!

TerriBull Mon 18-Feb-19 17:26:30

Baptiste was always my favourite character in "The Missing"
mainly because he appears sympathique. So his own series is very welcome for Sunday evening now Les Miserables has finished. Dark and tense, nearly jumped out of my skin at the scene filmed at The Deal Beach House, but won't give any spoilers. Tom Hollander is also another actor I like, but clearly not all he seems
