We watched the latest episode yesterday and I realised that I have lost track of the personal relationships - could someone please remind me. Thank you.

I love Shetland even though I often have no flipping idea what is going on.

I still can't decide whether Alice really was an innocent dupe in all this or actually knew Chris was up to something and was hoping to cover up for him. It was nice that Tosh and the boyfriend got together in the end, and also that Cassie was sent back to Glasgow with a hunky personal bodyguard.

I suppose the bad guys were still hoping to make some money from Zizzi, either as ransom or by selling her on. She'd be worth nothing once she was dead. What will happen to her now, heaven knows. Still, most things were satisfactorily resolved by the end.

I felt there was something missing about the mole and they're keeping it open for another series.

There are some more books left I believe in the Shetland series. Did they ever ever explain last night who the mole was?

SPOILER ALERT
Jalima1108 he was the nasty man in The Missing who kept the girls in his cellar. (Typecasting???)
I still don't understand why they didn't kill the girl instead of trapsing her all over the island. She would have been costing money all the time.

Or Perez even !

ninathenana Wed 20-Mar-19 11:27:14

Shame about Peres and Alice.

Won't spoil it for others.

I enjoyed the ending a bit more light hearted .Tosh's chat up about her twitchy eye and wearing socks in bed was very funny .Does anyone know if theres another series planned? I think someone said this was the last but cant find the post .

At your recommendation I grabbed an Ann Cleeve book in the library and found out it was about Vera. So I have learnt something.

Susan56 Tue 19-Mar-19 23:23:05

Jalima ??????

Marydoll Tue 19-Mar-19 23:16:54

Vera?

Marydoll Tue 19-Mar-19 23:14:59

She has been in Holby City.

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Mar-19 23:08:11

SPOILER ALERT

You read it here first! Fri 01-Mar-19 18:31:09
I've seen Alice's husband playing a nasty baddie in something else, can't remember what, so this does not bode well...….

kittylester Tue 19-Mar-19 07:33:48

But I still can't recall what's I have seen her in.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Mar-19 23:26:18

She has quite an impressive list of achievements, both acting and producing.
She sounds like a Londoner in this, I didn't realise that she's Welsh.

Rakie Ayola plays Olivia Lennox. imdb filmography here:

I don't watch Midsomer Murders. confused

annodomini Mon 18-Mar-19 10:31:49

I think I have recently seen her in Midsommer Murders, but then sooner or later, every actor has a role in that!

kittylester Mon 18-Mar-19 10:20:35

What else has she been in. I've googled her and found Colby city but I can't remember her and feel she was in something else. I can't remember her name.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Mar-19 09:57:56

I think she is a very good actress and the fact that we feel uncertain of her is, I think, part of the role that she is portraying well.

Jane10 Mon 18-Mar-19 09:51:12

I don't know if I'd agree that she's a poor actress. It's a difficult, contrary sort of role she's having to portray. We're always wondering about her. It's all a bit odd! Not a nice situation at all!

harrigran Mon 18-Mar-19 09:26:54

I don't know what to make of Zezi's mother, she is such a poor actress that I can't decide whether she is involved or just distraught.

Jalima1108 Sun 17-Mar-19 19:22:28

notanan I think I said that too, we may find out soon!

Thank you annodomini - which makes it all rather strange that Jimmy did not know that much about Benson, even if not the same age.

I heard of girls from my secondary school who had gone on to greatness even if they were years older than me - two in showbusiness! grin and one younger who was even more lauded.

annodomini Sun 17-Mar-19 19:08:44

Jimmy, as a Fairislander, had to attend secondary school as a weekly boarder in Lerwick. He was in the police in Inverness until he returned to work in Shetland and it was there that he met Fran who had been married to Duncan, who is Cassie's father. There's a book of short stories - Offshore - which includes, among others, stories which feature Jimmy and details about his background.

Gonegirl I might be wrong but I was presuming that the bodies were the next lot of people trafficked and the boat had hit trouble but I may be quite wrong (I usually am)

Im afraid my interpretation was a bit sadder :-(
Perez's plan to intercept the next landing and/or his ransom paying trap re Zezi spooked the trafficers because they were tipped off by the leak..
.... so they dumped the people they were planning to land into the sea. "Colateral damage" to escape capture themselves.

Fair Isle is a very different self contained community

... and they knit lovely jumpers!
