Scott & Bailey and Unforgotten are two of my personal favourites. There's also DCI Banks, The Bodyguard, Save Me, Marcella and The Fall. George Gently, Grantchester and Father Brown for some old-fashioned sleuthing. Maigret set in France but British-made starring Rowan Atkinson.

Did you watch Shetland Annie that's rather good.

There are so many but I can't bring many to mind. I loved Happy Valley, although rather violent.
