Catch 22

I remember reading this when I was 15 and being so impressed that I lent it to my Dad, who loved war stories.

He read the first line and threw the book at me (literally) accusing me of reading filth.

I read it when about 20, enjoyed it then, but have only vague memories of it now!?
I will have to watch the film.

Maybe the film etc is topical now because of D-Day. Though the story takes place during the Italian campaign, 1943.

I`ve always meant to read the book, now I`m not so sure anymore

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I almost never give up on a book, keep ploughing on in the hope that it will improve, but I gave up on catch 22

It's not been on yet in the UK and I've not seen a date advertised. It'll be worth watching for George Clooney alone.

I know what you mean about the book Jane - the protagonist keeps flashing back to a terrible incident that traumatised him. Never mind the poor rear gunner who had been hit.
Doesn't get explained until nearly the end.

It is currently being advertised. I just coukdn’t Get to grips with the book but will watch it.

I thought it was being screened later this month on Channel 4?
