For my late father, it was The Archers theme music, which he referred to as the “dum- de-dums “
At the first notes he would do a Usain Bolt across the room to turn the radio off.
For me, I’m afraid it is The Listening Project.
Intrusive? Boring? I don’t know, I just can’t stand it.
(Just a Minute comes a close second!)

That song definitely wasn't written for women, Lona. After working eight hours, doing the housework, cooking, after school stuff, supervising homework, getting kids to bed etc., there's precious little time for fun, let alone eight hours sleep. hmm

Just about everything that’s been mentioned so far! Also Strictly Come Dancing and things like The Voice. I also turn off any form of violence, real or fictional.

Yet I watch lots of TV, mostly news and current affairs, plus any good documentary. I’d watch good comedy if there was any.

One of our Jack Russells hates the advert for Specsavers - the one where the Scottish crofter is shearing his sheep. As soon as she hears a mere hint of the music she hurls herself at the TV (unless we can grab her first.) She'll even come darting in from the next room.

We've asked her if it's the music she hates, or that the poor sheepdog gets shorn by mistake but all she does is bark at us!

I'm always relieved when that advert runs its course. Until they dig the damn thing out again.

And the new Question Time with Fiona Bruce.. excruciating!

Marilla Wed 26-Jun-19 15:48:56

Another vote for Elaine Page’s laugh!

ninathenana Wed 26-Jun-19 15:39:55

merlot yes, poor Graaaaahaaam should have left years ago.
Various ads, too many to mention.
Rylan Clark
Alan Sugar
Ainsley Harriot
I'm sure there's more.

Gonegirl Wed 26-Jun-19 15:38:26

I like Eastenders. Good characters. Corrie is boring at the moment.

felice Wed 26-Jun-19 15:16:58

Gear, the heat is scrambling my brain I just sent a long FB message to a friend, confused her as it was meant for DD.

Callistemon Wed 26-Jun-19 15:16:41

Oh yes, even the adverts for Top Gear!

felice Wed 26-Jun-19 15:15:21

Top Ger, I don't care who presents it and all the soaps, not for me.

Callistemon Wed 26-Jun-19 15:09:19

There is a woman announcer, a disembodied voice, on BBC and her breathy voice annoys me, especially when she announces News at Ten 'with Huw Edwudds'

merlotgran Wed 26-Jun-19 15:03:03

That whining woman's voice on the moving house advert.

'Graaayummmm.'

Then when the poor old sod nearly gets to the top of the stairs she tells him it doesn't matter.

Never mind an estate agent - he needs a divorce solicitor!

Callistemon Wed 26-Jun-19 14:51:55

The theme tune to East Enders

plus other soaps, but East Enders in particular, we both rush to turn it off as we can't bear even 30 seconds of the programme!

I quite like A Question of Sport, GillT57 although I only watch it if it comes on and I can't be bothered to move grin

GillT57 Wed 26-Jun-19 14:22:32

The theme tunes to:
Mrs Brown's Boys
Eastenders
Question of Sport
Match of the Day
On Radio 4
Clive Anderson and his sycophantic group all laughing at their own little jokes; it is repellent.

Anniebach Wed 26-Jun-19 14:20:51

Eastenders and Coronation Street

gillybob Wed 26-Jun-19 14:19:25

Elaine Page's laugh

Is there anything more grating Beckett ?

Beckett Wed 26-Jun-19 14:14:22

TV - Eastenders theme and Keith Lemon's voice
Local radio - the voice of the afternoon presenter
Radio 2 - Elaine Page's laugh

wildswan16 Wed 26-Jun-19 12:43:34

Jeremy Clarkson

Nannyxthree Wed 26-Jun-19 12:34:09

Most repeats except 'Foyles War ' and 'Yorkshire Vet'.

Gonegirl Wed 26-Jun-19 12:29:14

The Archers for me. Watched it for years, since I was quite yung, but DH got obssessed with it when he retired and that put me right off it. I just can't share. Mine all mine or nothing. I leave him to it now.
