Boring isn't it so far?

It's all about kids. Yawn.

SirChenjin Fri 15-Nov-19 22:50:32

It’s a brilliant album merlot, I’ve got it on iTunes and it’s well worth a listen

merlotgran Fri 15-Nov-19 22:42:11

I watched the documentary about celebs making an album of covers of various songs a week or so ago.

It was David Tennant singing the Proclaimers' 'Sunshine on Leith' that gave me goosebumps.

Jodie Whittaker is pretty good as well.

ginny Fri 15-Nov-19 22:39:19

Well said SirChenjin.

SirChenjin Fri 15-Nov-19 22:34:36

Great work being done right across the country for fantastic causes. Som of the entertainment tonight isn’t my cup of tea but keeping SirChenjin happy isn’t the purpose of tonight. I hope my family and I never, ever need the services that CIN funds.

Sara65 Fri 15-Nov-19 22:26:39

You have to wonder how some families cope with the hand they’ve been dealt.

Makes me feel pathetic, for moaning about such trivial things.

Opal Fri 15-Nov-19 22:02:42

Really sad stories on tonight, but at the same time so hopeful and heartwarming. These kids are incredible, they achieve so much against the odds. Very happy to watch and support.

jura2 Fri 15-Nov-19 22:01:31

Indeed, same here- and 35.5 million raised to far... amazing.

Gonegirl Fri 15-Nov-19 21:59:26

It was the Rickshaw Challenge that got my money jura. Couldn't help myself. That must have been so hard.

Gonegirl Fri 15-Nov-19 21:57:29

There are some amazing children on there though. So brave.

Oopsminty Fri 15-Nov-19 21:52:17

I didn't even know it was on

jura2 Fri 15-Nov-19 21:51:23

Agreed Annie- a lot of mardy sour grapes above. Supporting the kids in the rickshaw challenge- wow, what amazing kids.

Anniebach Fri 15-Nov-19 21:48:54

Does it matter why those appear, the charity does much and no money taken for wages.

ginny Fri 15-Nov-19 21:47:51

Younger should read rather !

ginny Fri 15-Nov-19 21:47:27

I first read the op as a younger in cheek comment, am I correct ?
However I find some of the following comment rather harsh. This charity raises millions for uk children’s charities.
As for those saying that the celebs are ‘self serving.... etc, I notice most of you make a point of saying that you give to other charities. I rest my case and duck before the firing starts.

annsixty Fri 15-Nov-19 21:44:17

Until I switched tv on tonight I didnt realise it was that time of year.
I have seen no publicity or anything going on as in other years.I don't watch anyway , I find it very boring.

M0nica Fri 15-Nov-19 21:39:24

Never watched it or donated to it. I have a portfolio of ccharities I support on a regular basis.

And like Smileless I find the self serving 'aren't we wonderful giving up our free time , unpaid for charity' rather self serving and distasteful.

Callistemon Fri 15-Nov-19 20:53:57

DGD's and DIL's schools have raised quite a lot of money and I put money in a collecting box so I don't feel obliged to watch!

Sara65 Fri 15-Nov-19 20:50:36

Only just turned on, I greatly admire what Children in Need achieves, but I expect I’ll be turning off soon, especially now Graham Norton’s turned up.

crazyH Fri 15-Nov-19 20:46:14

I like the acrobats

Smileless2012 Fri 15-Nov-19 20:43:48

Thanks Gonegirl, now I don't feel such a grouchgrin.

Gonegirl Fri 15-Nov-19 20:40:53

Don't apologise. I agree.

Even the acts look like someone's sixteen year old grandsons.

Smileless2012 Fri 15-Nov-19 20:38:53

Don't watch it and haven't done so for years. We support various charities and TBH I find the self serving 'aren't we wonderful giving up our free time , unpaid for charity' rather self serving and distasteful.

Sorry!!

NfkDumpling Fri 15-Nov-19 20:36:09

Catching up on recorded stuff.

Gonegirl Fri 15-Nov-19 20:31:59

Nothing else to watch though.

NfkDumpling Fri 15-Nov-19 20:31:40

Avoiding it. I support the charities I want to support and avoid the hype and guilt trip.
