Time To Say Goodbye

Just put a Dundee cake in the oven. Sat down in time to hear Andrea Bocelli singing the Italian version of the above, (not the one with Sarah Brightman) on Bill Turnbull’s Classic FM show.
Never fails to send shivers down my spine, and if anyone rang the doorbell would see me with tears in my eyes.
I read somewhere that if God could sing, it would be that man’s voice you would hear.
I’ve probably spelt his name wrongly, sorry AB!

Two of my favourite things- the voice of Andre Bocelli and Dundee cake, just the smell of the latter baking would drive me crazy as I am on my pre-Christmas weight loss regime.

I have it on my iTunes and play it fairly regularly. Gets to me every time.

It is very popular at funerals but beaten by " My Way " . some people have no taste in music.

If you go on a cruise to Norway, and call in at Olden, when you leave the locals play that song. They play it very loudly , from speakers on the quay, along with Rod Stewart's ' I am sailing ' Looking up the steep fijord sides, most of the houses have someone outside waving a large flag. It is very touching, and the first time very unexpected.
