Their upbringing is always going to have a considerable influence on them. But there have been cases of separated twins whose lives have been almost identical even when they knew nothing of their twin. It's as if they were leading parallel lives.

If I remember rightly Chestnut the consensus from the triplets was nurture was by far (in their estimation anyway) the most important factor in their lives

I saw this some time ago and thought it was one of the most fascinating stories I'd ever come across. And it just gets more bizarre the further you go! Always so intruiging to discover the similarities between twins (or triplets in this case) separated at birth because they often live identical lives. That makes you wonder if it is actually nature not nurture which makes us who we are.

Fascinating and a bit sinister I thought. Still no conclusive findings from this government funded study.

So sad that it was basically a research project

This interesting documentary is about identical triplets, three brothers, who were separated when they were adopted at about 6 months old and miraculously, found each other as 19 year olds (that's the short version).

I haven't finished watching it yet, just got to the bit where they decide to try to find their birth mother ... (can't have been too many identical triplets born on the same date in NY).
