What a brilliant film. If you fancy something different and have the consentration to listen to all that is sad in this film you will love it!!!! There are flash backs but they are very relevant to the present part of the film.

I was hugely impressed with the original play which was first produced at the Royal in Northampton last year with Anton Lesser as Benedict and Nicholas Woodeson as Francis
I had hoped it would transfer to the West End but the film must have been in the pipeline even then.
I cant wait to see it

The film is now available on Netflix - it's wonderful. You do not necessarily have to be RC to appreciate the dialogue.

I must say I enjoyed it too.

I started to watch it but was put off by the sub titles. Does it start to be in English after a while?

I enjoyed it too but was shocked by the riches at the top of the church. I remember my first MIL lived in poverty (having had lots of children in a tiny house) and the priest used to regularly come to collect money from her.

Jane - it’s mostly in English but some sections are subtitled. Agree that’s it’s worth watching though a bit too long.

I too really enjoyed this. I am not RC, it is definitely worth a watch.
