While I do enjoy this, the shouty baldy greengrocer really gets on my wick.
I was thinking that if I was in this competition, while it's nice when someone likes your food, I couldn't give a toss about his opinion, he's not a chef. Maybe I'm being a mean menopausal bitch ?

He gets on my wick too, and he does other TV programmes where he annoys me even more, I’m afraid I now switch off as soon as I hear his fake laugh.

That makes me a mean post-menopausal witch ‘cos I can’t stand him either. Plus his opinion wouldn’t matter much to me ....

Thank you Winnie, that actually made me laugh. Even the second time I read it. ?

I watched it last night and kept thinking what a false smile he has - its as if someone is just off screen yelling at him "SMILE for goodness sake SMILE!!"
I always watch the programme but will soon be fast forwarding the bit where they go to famous kitchens to join in the cooking. It's way too stressful for me. shock

Ah ladies.. No longer do I feel mean.
Why does he have to shout all the time.. I watched him in that programme about Vienna Christmas markets.. and even shouted in that.. Gobby greengrocer.

I dislike his manner when he's nagging the contestants to get the food on the table on time for the guest judges. That would make me drop the dish as I took it out of the oven - or tell him in no uncertain terms just where to go. But maybe someone has and it has been edited out.

I think the whole programme is past its sell by date now. The food prepared is pretentious and silly. If Torode says 'tumeric' one more time I'm sending in a hit man.

He ventured down to the far reaches of Cornwall to a business awards thingy where my son was the photographer. Son said he was lovely and warm and he can usually spot a dud a mile off. ?

sodapop if Torode says tumeric one more time
grin
Actually, come to think of it, that's how I've had it pronounced in Australia and I always mutter "turmeric" under my breath.
Perhaps I should shout it from the rooftops!

I don't mind the greengrocer but I don't watch Masterchef, but occasionally the programmes where he goes into the food factories because he always seems so interested and enthusiastic.

Callistemon Fri 06-Mar-20 10:00:49

Heard it pronounced.

No, I have never done it.

He's there as a customer of fine dining restaurants ,that is a very different role from the professional chef judges .I'm not keen on him either but his opinion in its context is important

My husband cannot stand him. He spends the whole program muttering about him. Makes me smile ?.
