Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Sweet Caroline. Reminded me of a little girl I know (not mine).
She must be nearly 50 now!

It always amazes me how stars such as Shirley Bassey go down a storm at Glastonbury - such a great performer.

I love Willie Nelson.

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 20:06:56

I loved Neil's version of 'Days'. Beautiful song.

Kate1949 Sun 28-Jun-20 20:05:47

Me too. Ray Davies, Neil Diamond smile

MissAdventure Sun 28-Jun-20 19:58:11

Thanks to whoever mentioned the danish serial “seaside hotel “ it’s delightful and I’m looking forward to series 2 in July.

Watching Elvis the Searcher on Sky Documentary. Elvis singing with Frank Sinatra in one clip. What a treat for a wet Sunday!

kircubbin2000 Sun 28-Jun-20 13:27:04

Just started Dark series 3 on Netflix. Couldn't tell you what it's about but it's good. I'm also going to look for the Search on BBC I player after the awful drama in Belfast looking for Noah.

Kate1949 Sun 28-Jun-20 12:03:06

Yes!

TerriBull Sun 28-Jun-20 11:54:07

Well hopefully if they do come over at a later stage they won't meet the same grisly fate in our theatres that so many of The Soprano gang and their enemies met grin

Kate1949 Sun 28-Jun-20 11:47:55

We came to it late too Terri. I didn't fancy it at all but DH persuaded me. I loved it. I cared so much about the characters, even the horrible ones for some reason. I loved Carmella's clothes. Three of the cast were appearing at some UK theatres this year but obviously it's been postponed. I wanted to go but DH said 'don't be ridiculous, you're obsessed' smile

TerriBull Sun 28-Jun-20 10:42:05

I came to it late Kate, our son sent us the entire box set during lock down, yes sublime, albeit extremely violent. I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms having binged on it?

Kate1949 Sun 28-Jun-20 10:09:19

The Sopranos is my favourite series of all time.

TerriBull Sun 28-Jun-20 08:54:04

Have started to watch "Nurse Jackie" an acclaimed American series from a few years ago, the heroine of the series, Nurse Jackie is addicted to pain killers herself, it's very good so far, the lead actress Edie Falco gave me the impetus to watch it, as we have just finished the entire series of The Sopranos in which she played Tony Soprano's wife, this is very much a departure from that role.

Other than that, I may watch a second episode of "This is Us" on Amazon Prime tonight as recommended by a couple of posters on GN, found it a tad mushy, but the pilot episode revealed how the characters are linked right at the end so will keep going with it sometimes it takes a few parts to get into the story.

I expect we will also watch The Luminaries tonight, my husband, surprisingly thought it wasn't too bad, but then unlike me he didn't plough through over 800 pages of the book.

Craftycat, I must take a look at the Glastonbury programmes. I envy you having seen The Rolling Stones, we do have the Scorcese DVD which is the closest we will come now. We also would have loved to see Queen, as would our eldest son. I was sceptical about them carrying on with other lead singers but after having seen The Show Must Go On on Netflix which is the story of how they came to choose Adam Lambert I would go to see them if the opportunity arises, younger son and his wife have seen them twice With A L and say they are very good. I would love to have seen Springsteen too, and Adele. I think that’s this evening’s viewing sorted out.

I'm recording "Love is Strange" on Film 4 at 2.10 am. I've seen it before but it's such touching, simple little film that I want to watch it again.

I haven't watched anything else except a (very) old episode of "Escape to the Country". I'm not quite sure why because the prices are now miles out of date - and I would actually hate to live in the country again.

Glastonbury!!
So great BBC have picked the great performances. Springsteen was great although I have seen him live anyway. I was very impressed with Adele & now watching Coldplay. Watched The Stones yesterday & again seen them live loads of times starting in 60s.
Tomorrow there will be 2 hours of Bowie. My hero. Best live act ever & I've seen a lot of acts in my time. Michael Jackson came a close 2nd - What a performer. Pure magic. Queen were good too although more DH's taste than mine.
The only act I was really disappointed with were the Beatles. They were very disappointing. No charisma at all.
I do like Stormsy too. Local lad too.
I've recorded all the shows so I can watch at my leisure. A real treat!!

As with most evenings now I am watching programmes from BBC iPlayer, Netflix or Amazon Prime. This evening I have watched BBC iPlayer - the film Selma and Coming To England which is a delightful story of Floella Benjamin’s early idyllic childhood in Trinidad and how her parents came to England leaving Floella, her sister and two brothers in Trinidad until they could join their parents and two younger siblings in England. The story continues with the difficulties the family face starting their new life in England. The little girls playing Floella and her sister are delightful.

MissAdventure Sat 27-Jun-20 21:42:25

Oh, thank you, I think..
I'll probably end up crying, though.

merlotgran Sat 27-Jun-20 21:33:48
