Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Just watched the last episode of After Life
So moving, so funny, so real
I would defy anyone not to be moved

The new Van def Valk has a strong Cockney accent, seems a bit incongruous at the moment.

merlotgran Sun 26-Apr-20 12:35:22

We'll give the new Van der Valk a go tonight. I felt quite tearful when I saw it was coming back. DH's parents loved the original and we always watched it whenever they visited. We lived and worked in a lovely Norfolk village at the time.

Happy Days!

Mediterranean with Simon Reeve, the final of Race Across the World and catching up on Murder Mystery, a film with Adam Sandler that I saw the beginning of the other day. It looked as if it would be really funny-his films usually are. That’s the plan. I’ll probably watch one and get on with some sewing or a jigsaw with the others on record for later.

Jane43 Sun 26-Apr-20 12:28:04

I’ll be watching Race Across The World as well and also the penultimate episode of Homeland. I will also watch Primates on catch up at some stage.

MerylStreep Sun 26-Apr-20 11:43:21

If we were a lot younger we would definitely put our names forward for Race across the world. We would absolutely love it. I have been to Argentina and Brazil ( in my 50s) but would love to have done the trips when I was younger, maybe 20s/30s.

Ilovecheese Sun 26-Apr-20 11:39:26

I am intending to give Van Der Valk a go. I like Mark Warren and never really liked Barry Foster, so will not be comparing

Pittcity Sun 26-Apr-20 11:34:10

I'm looking forward to Race Across the World too Alima. I could never do that trip with that little money though!
Have set to record Primates, thanks for the reminder.

Alima Sun 26-Apr-20 11:06:07

I am looking forward to the final of Race Across the World tonight. So liberating watching the teams travel the length of South America, see what can be done when we are out of lockdown.
There is a new series called Primates starting on BBC1 at the same time as RAtW. Will record that.
Like Eloethan looking forward to the new series of The A Word. (Has moved on a bit, the sweet little boy of 5 is a ten year old in this new one, how did that happen?)

BBC 4 has 'disco' music on now.
I was going to watch it, but it's not my thing, I decided, as I was singing along to 'rock the boat'. smile

starbird; my daughter was told to read that book when she went to uni; I annoyingly gave it back to her recently with a pile of other things. I'm hoping she still has it; she said she remembers reading it and what stuck in her mind most was 'eels'. I was always fascinated by Hereward the Wake because of the tv series. Really want to read it now.

It was very good Jane, I am enjoying watching it again.

Jane43 Sat 25-Apr-20 14:36:07

Just for information ‘Blood’ as recommended by seacliff is on Amazon Prime but you have to pay for it. However it is also free to watch on My5 the Channel 5 app.

Anniebach you just reminded me how good Wire In The Blood was, I have put it on my list of things to watch.

starbird Sat 25-Apr-20 13:30:45

I’m reading an old book, “Waterland” by Graham Swift, and prefer it to anything on tonight.

It’s set in the Fens and I’m learning a lot about them, which I find interesting as I live on their doorstep.

But I might watch a bit of BGT for some light relief, probably have it on when I eat my Saturday night pizza!

Anniebach Sat 25-Apr-20 13:18:01

Wire in the Blood and Whitechapel, I watch one episode each
evening.

Maggiemaybe Sat 25-Apr-20 13:06:40

As last week, tonight will be the Saturday YouTube quiz, then Twin, which I’m really enjoying. I think it ends tonight. Perhaps when all the ends are tied up they can all start looking after those children who seem to be left to their own devices most of the time. grin

Jane43 Sat 25-Apr-20 12:20:37

Thank you seacliff. We do have the channel 5 app so I’ll try that and Amazon Prime as well.

seacliff Sat 25-Apr-20 11:52:54

Hi Jane. I don't have Prime, just limited Sky.

I searched for Blood, and it came up on 5Select 11pm on 11 April for S1 ep1. (never even heard of 5Select!!).

I am enjoying it again. From what I've read about series 2, it would help to have seen series 1. Very good in my opinion.

Jane43 Sat 25-Apr-20 10:09:04

Blood looks good. I am assuming it is on Amazon Prime seacliff but you say you are watching it on catchup. Can you confirm how you are watching it please as I may start watching it over the weekend.

Marmight Fri 24-Apr-20 20:30:55

Perfect Pianists at the BBC on BBC4. Lovely

seacliff Fri 24-Apr-20 20:22:07

I am watching on catch up the first series of Blood, with Adrian Dunbar. I realise I have already seen it, can't remember it all, but it's good. Because the second series is about to start in a few days.

Eloethan Fri 24-Apr-20 01:08:28

I loved The A Word and am looking forward to the new series. The sound track to the last series was great too.

The Royals on Tour--CH5@9PM

SalsaQueen Thu 23-Apr-20 19:19:51

I'll be watching something on Netflix later

TerriBull Thu 23-Apr-20 18:55:40

Got an Amazon package from my son yesterday, "The Sopranos" which I started watching ages ago but never kept up with, so I guess we'll be watching that, but I'm going to insist on an episode from series 3 of "This Country" first.

My son sends us things he likes and feels we should be watching, so far "House of Cards", "Breaking Bad", "The Wire".....I haven't really liked any of them. I feel like retaliating by sending him box sets of "Downton Abbey" or "Miss Marple" with a "there you are watch those for the next few weeks" hmm
