Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Daddima
You could have a month's free trial of Britbox to watch it, then cancel your trial. There are some real goodies on Britbox, I have a long list of things to watch on it.

I saw Upstairs Downstairs was on Prime Video, but £12.99 to rent each series is a bit much!
I watched The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie on You Tube last night.

Well after last night I will be very selective as last night curiosity for the better of me and I watched a little bit of Contagion made in 2011 which was about a virus, spreading rapidly,.no vaccine - just like now. Think tonight it will be a DVD Mamma Mia 2.

Thanks for the help oldgimmerl. I think it was on iPlayer for a short while but then got taken off so they could flog the DVD. Ah well?

oldgimmer1 Wed 25-Mar-20 09:58:18

Just checked. Can't find Mum on iPlayer. sad

oldgimmer1 Wed 25-Mar-20 09:55:01

Probably a stupid question, but it's not on iPlayer, is it? (that's to purple).

Purpledaffodil Wed 25-Mar-20 09:48:23

Does anyone know if there’s a way to watch the third series of Mum without paying a fortune? I even signed up for a free trial of BritBox because I’d read it was on there but it wasn’t ?
We have all the Usual suspects, Now, Apple TV, Amazon Prime but I don’t see it anywhere.

Rosalyn69 Wed 25-Mar-20 09:34:43

MASH. The movie.
Hospitals and war. Black humour.

Finished watching Netflix's" Unbelievable" last night, both harrowing and absorbing. The three main lead actresses, only know Toni Colette by name were superb, particularly the very young actress who played the first victim not to be believed, entirely broken by a system that had failed her since she was a very young child. Happily she emerged a much stronger person at the conclusion I thought it was excellent.

Started watching Flesh and Blood. I’m finding the mother annoyingly gullible and Mary next door would drive me crazy!
Spy In The Wild. A fascinating view of different species through the camera of animatronic creatures. All ages would enjoy this I think.

Delighted Monty is back?

GabriellaG54 Wed 25-Mar-20 00:05:28

The Repair Shop
Missed series of LTIH
RL investigations/murders UK US
Motorway Cops
Anything RL.
No soaps, chats, comedy, sleb claptrap, quizzes etc.
Have to laugh at the dating show with Fred.
Some pairings (esp the women) are laughable and not in a good way.

I know your sort, dunking a custard cream.

MissAdventure Tue 24-Mar-20 22:32:04

I like to live dangerously, me.
Slippers on, tea, and a digestive.

Something nice and gritty on the tv and I'm set for the evening. smile

Greymar Tue 24-Mar-20 22:26:34

You are one crazy ladee there Miss A.

MissAdventure Tue 24-Mar-20 21:47:18

Helicopter ER.

Treebee Tue 24-Mar-20 19:58:34

The final of Portrait Artist of the Year. Though I can’t paint for toffee I find the different techniques on show fascinating. I’m in awe when they capture the sitter’s likeness well.

We look through the programmes and either record to watch later, or actually watch live. So we have a selection: old Endeavour, one or two Joan Hickson Agatha Christie (for me), some films (saw "The Blue Lamp" last week for the first time ever!) and any documentaries that look interesting. Loved seeing two programmes on BBC4 about "Ready, Steady, Go"; made me feel young again! I still have a hang-up about watching television during the day time, it feels so decadent - but I must admit the days are long. Found DH watching the recorded England rugby match just now - and yes, they won again!
