Antiques Roadshow, A New Game!

Hello all, Mr P and I usually end up watching Antiques Roadshow when we come through to the sitting room after supper. (Yes, sad I know) and have for sometime played "Score the "orf", with points awarded according the way that Tim Wonnacott pronounces the word "off". (It really does vary!) confused

We have added a new game, "Spot the porter who hopes to be spotted" grin

Auctions have porters, the chaps or girls who either hold up the items, or point to them as the auctioneer starts the bidding.

Some of them just point or hold, but you get the odd one who seems to think they might just make it in show biz, and this could be their big chance, with being on TV.

The jut of the chin, the gaze into middle distance (think male version of Amanda Burton in "Silent Witness")

Classic example tonight! grin

I often go to our local auction house and have never seen a porter direct bidders gaze to the item, but it’s interesting that when the cameras are there, many members of the auctioneers family or staff suddenly become porters for the show.

I like looking at the crowds behind the article being discussed on AR.
Sometimes they change completely as a result of editing the film and retakes.

DanniRae or Antiques Road Trip. Which is narrated by the annoying Mr. Wannacott.
