Yes, he is well known here in Cornwall and has made it a mission to set a memorial to the DDay fallen. He was there on the first day as his mates were killed and he visits Normandy every year. It’s a privilege to meet him. He is a delightful man and loves chatting to people. “Don’t call me a hero he says. The heroes were my mates who didn’t come back” We owe so much to Harry and his mates. And he IS a hero.
Did you see 94 year old Harry on BBC Breakfast. He is the DDay veteran who collected for a memorial. He says, "If you can't live with yourself you can't live with anybody." I think he should be employed to keep up our morale.
