I love it and plan to watch this repeat on i-player as I missed the beginning of it. I've just reread Bringing up the Bodies prior to reading the Mirror and the Light. It's rare that I enjoy a dramatisation as much as the book.
I love all of Hilary Mantel's book.

It's the only historical drama I've ever watched where I've felt that I am watching real people in a real place. Love the quietness of it and the filming by candlelight is brilliant. DS's verdict is "Well if you like watching people walk along wooden floors without saying anything"! I thought Claire Foy made a wonderful Anne Boleyn, always just on the edge, and Jessica Raine was a beautifully poisonous Lady Rochford, just a shame we don't see her downfall with Catherine Howard. I'm halfway through The Mirror and the Light but reading it VERY slowly!

I watched it first time round and loved it. I have read the first two books and was blown away but I love Tudor history and have read a lot of it.

I am waiting for The Mirror and the Light to come out in paperback and will then enjoy that. I was given Thomas Cromwell a biography by Diarmaid MacCulloch for Christmas and that is on my lockdown reading list.

Loving it. It’s fabulous especially because although I’ve got the book I just haven't had the concentration needed to read it.

Nortsat - laughed at your comment about not wanting to get to the inevitable end. Such a shame that it is history so the end cannot be altered.
I read the first two books, watched the tv series, re-read the first two books, am now listening to the first two books on Alexa )my bedtime story). Have purchased the third book both ways (kindle and alexa), but am dreading it, because I know that ending.
Brilliant tv series, superb acting throughout. Have got it all recorded to watch again sometime soon

I agree, I love it.
Re-watching hasn’t reduced my enjoyment.
I have read the book twice and Bring up the Bodies once.

I am now part way through The Mirror and the Light, but I don’t want to get to the inevitable end ... so am dawdling ... ??

Wonderful; thanks to the person who posted that it was being shown again. All the actors inhabit the characters of the people they are playing, even if they look nothing like them.

Isn't it brilliant?

I like the slowness of it - gives one time to take in the backdrops and the Tudorness of it..

Glad it's on again. Pretty true to the book, too.

I am loving it . Some wonderful acting with a wonderful cast. If you like history it will be one for you.
