The bond movies with Daniel Craig in are ok,much more up to date than the old ones.(though id probably say Roger Moore was the best bond- fitted the profile perfectly.
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
I have never seen any of the Star Wars films and have no interest in doing so .
Until last year I had never seen The Sound Of Music ( actively avoided it in fact ) and only watched it then because we were visiting Salzburg .

Harrigran,i fall asleep during most of the movies when at cinema
I don't like fantasy so have not watched Lord of the Rings, Star Wars or any movies which I feel are made for teenagers. With the exception of Harry Potter for some reason which I liked!
James Bond was okay at first but lost interest after Roger Moore.
Used to love Hammer Horror movies but The Exorcist put me off horror as it was way too disturbing.
I love disaster movies, dinosaurs and sharks. I'm fine if the violence or gore involves monsters or creatures but cannot watch if it's humans.
Like so many others I have never seen any of the films listed. If I had to mention films I have watched but wish I hadn't top of the list would be The Sound of Music. All of my friends love it and watch it over and over. As for me, I can understand why even the actors were said to have renamed it "The Sound of Mucus" Says it all, doesn't it!
Never watched any Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the rings, James Bond.. but some I think maybe i should see, like ‘Shawshank Redemption’ ’Good will hunting’and ‘To kill a mockingbird’ because I’ve only heard good reviews..
I never saw Silence of the Lambs. Fell asleep at the beginning and had to be woken at the end!
No James Bond since Dr No, have tried Gladiator and Time Bandit and enjoyed what I saw but have never manages to stay awake!! When looking for a film to watch if it says American politics, CIA, J C Van Dam (?) , Sylvester Stallone or any of that ilk I dismiss it out of hand. Probably missed some gooduns but American Shoot/kill/conspiracies etc tend to leave me cold.
No Star Wars, no Lord of the Rings, no Game of a Thrones. I’ve seen one Harry Potter film, and didn’t want to see any more. As for Titanic, I get panicky watching any film where I see people struggling under water. I tried to watch Titanic on the TV, but couldn’t cope with it once the water started to come in! However. I know the ending!!
Titanic, any of the Fast & Furious films, Avatar... I don't watch horror films, since DH took me (aged 18) to see Nightmare on Elm Street. Lovely summer's evening, didn't feel scared, just got very, very cold, despite sweat pouring off DH. He took me out about half an hour before the end. I think he should have let me see Freddie vanquished (well, in that film anyway), because I had nightmares for weeks.
I do try to watch classic films as ‘part of my education’ really. It took me three goes to watch Elephant Man! I do think many films have to be watched in a cinema on a big screen to really appreciate them. Having said that, I have never seen It’s a Wonderful Life .
Never seen the Sound of Music - I don't know why - it was one of my Mother's favourites!
Never seen any Harry Potter films or Lord of The Rings, in fact don't really watch films much at all. The last time I went to the cinema was with my 15 year old son (saw Lion King) he's 40 now.
No Star Wars, Harry Potters or Titanic. And probably many others.
Comments on The Sound of Music do rather wryly amuse me. It first came out when I was in my mid teens and at the time I was completely put off by all the gushing old ladies saying how wonderful it was, they’d been to see it 63 times, etc. I thought it must be revoltingly sickly - no way was I ever going to watch it!
Roll on at least 15 years and we were living in the middle of the Abu Dhabi desert, where dh was building an airport. I had a 3 year old dd and when it was too hot to be outside (often!) there was nothing on TV for her except the odd cartoon of Sindbad in Arabic. My sister used to send me video recordings of PlaySchool, which was lovely.
But lo, one day some kind person gave me a (pirate!) copy of The S of M, saying dd might like it. So I sat and watched it with her, and when dh came home I somewhat sheepishly said, ‘Actually, it’s rather good...’
Dd adored it, watched it over and over and over, still loves it at 43 and introduced it to her own dcs early on - they love it, too.
Might add that she once told me that all the Nazi/wartime stuff went right over her head when she was small - it wasn’t until she was doing history GCSE that it all clicked.
Never seen ET because it looked like an animated turd.
Never seen any of the Godfather films, or Titanic, or any film that is about romantic love with death scenes (can't remember the name of the most well known of this genre, but I believe there was a good sound track). Am surprised at the vehemence of those not liking fantasy - it is not supposed to be "real"
I took my then nine year old to the first Star Wars film and thought it pretty boring and strictly for kids including the aerial space ship dogfights basedentirely on WW2 films. I never bothered with the others. BUT, I loved Star Trek and have see everything put out over the years, including all the feature films and even the recent adventures of Picard in his old age online. Star Ttrek may have looked sometimes ridiculous but is/was the thinking woman's Sci Fi.
Brennan, Gone with the Wind is an excellent film - and book, though you are entitled to your opinion. Scarlett is a survivor.
Sound of Music - a lovely film, what's not to like? and Jaxie, poor ET - he's nothing like an animated turd, and it's a heartwarming film.
Never seen Frozen but only because it's not the sort of thing I'd watch on my own. I am sure it is very good.
I've still not seen several golden oldies such as Gone with the Wind, Ben Hur, Rebecca and Citizen Kane. Also not seen The Texas Chain Saw massacres, most of the Halloween movies, all of the Saw franchise and The Exorcist.
I had the chance to see the Exorcist back in the 1970's while on exercise in the middle of a very dark forest near Essen in Germany. Our C.O. had managed to grab a decent sound projector and had it set up in the mess tent, but I was put on guard duty, so only heard the film. Since then for some reason I've avoided it. I don't particularly enjoy that sort of horror film. One of the best Horror films I've ever seen (IMO) was of course the first Alien film and I also enjoy watching some of the sequels. The art work for the Alien movie was amazing. It reminded me of an album by Emerson Lake & Palmer called Brain Salad Surgery as the sleeve cover was created by the same artist H.R. Giger.
Love Star Wars and have seen every one!
Never seen Gone with the Wind.
Damdee
So agree about GWTW.
As for Frozen, didn’t fancy it but GD loved it when she was about 6, she sang the songs and did all the actions, so I watched it when it was on tv and I enjoyed it. Some of the songs are very good.
Its a wonderful life. Never seen it, have always somehow missed it when it's been on the telly. Maybe one day . . . .
I've never watched Gladiator or The Remains of the Day, or Caprain Corelli,'s Mandolin.
In fact there are loads more, but I haven't got the space or time to add them all!
Never seen or want to see Titanic, Psycho or Stephen King films.
Love Harry Potter Films and all versions of Pride and Prejudice.
ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark. The one where she crosses her legs and no knickers?? Most of the Disney films, A Fish called Wanda, Life of Brian, It’s a Wonderful Life (on the list though)
Stephen Spielberg Holocaust film (can’t remember the name offhand) and lots more. I’m awkward, the more publicity a film has, the less interest I have. I like French/English films rather than American.
Worst film for me? Mamma Mia, aaargh ?
.
Most of them. Saw Dr No and Jaws. No others.
