I didn’t really enjoy the programme last night, the last two series were fascinating, he seems to have gone off at a tangent with this one so far.

The presenter does nothing for me, he looks like he could do with a good wash and has a nasty habit of looking at the floor when he’s speaking. But I agree, nice voice!

Love this programme; can't say the presenter does it for me, but oh, his voice, I could listen to him all day long!

There seemed more nasty/sad stories than usual last night. I think port cities like Liverpool and Bristol usually have interesting tales to tell.

I really don’t get the swooning over the presenter. He seems to be a very odd shape! Also too bristly for my taste.

We taped it, wasn’t sure if it was a repeat. Is it the third series then, because we’ve seen two? Enjoy them very much.

It’s a really good series, brings social history to life doesn’t it?
Some very sad stories though.
The presenter is easy on the eye tooblush

Yes, tonight, BBC2 9pm. I'm really looking forward to it.

Great to hear there’s a new series coming, I loved those programmes, so interesting.

Rosiebee Sun 10-May-20 10:58:51

After Newcastle and Liverpool, I was hoping that they would do another. Interesting that they have chosen places around the country and not immediately gone for London. Hope this theme continues - with same presenter of course!

Thank you for mentioning this Jane10, we love these programmes and as you say, David Olusoga - oo!

The last one I watched was very interesting so I will be looking out for this.

Jane10 Fri 08-May-20 11:57:19

End of May apparently. I'll be looking out for it and am sure it will be promoted by BBC as its so popular.

Chewbacca Fri 08-May-20 11:48:03

Thanks for flagging this up Jane10, I really enjoyed the last series set in Liverpool. Any idea when its due to air?

Riverwalk Fri 08-May-20 11:44:34

I'm sure we'll all be watching with much interest - it's the houses of course! grin

Jane10 Fri 08-May-20 11:27:52

MissTree you're in for a treat. Can you find the 2 previous series? One was in Newcastle and one in Liverpool

Purplepixie Fri 08-May-20 11:16:00

I am soooo looking forward to this as the last series was great as I knew the house in Newcastle. My aunt Mary and uncle Jim used to live near to it and it is a lovely area set so near to the hustle and bustle of the city.

MissTree Fri 08-May-20 11:15:38

I don’t think I know this programme but it sounds like my sort of thing. Thanks for the heads up , Jane.

Squiffy Fri 08-May-20 11:10:52

Luckygirl Fri 08-May-20 10:22:34

Thank you for flagging this up. It is a lovely gentle informative programme.

Jane10 Fri 08-May-20 10:18:44

I think it's BBC2. Starting towards the end of May.

Witzend Fri 08-May-20 09:36:22

Will really look fwd to this, thanks so much for posting - which channel, please?

Jane10 Fri 08-May-20 09:31:38

Looks like the new series is coming soon. Set in Bristol this time. Should be fascinating as usual. I'm always so disappointed when each episode ends as the time flies when watching this. And there's David Olusoga. Oo.
