Just spotted the original series is to run on BBC 4 starting on 25 May at 21.30. Wonder if it will still seem as good? Used to love this.

It used to be such a highlight of Sunday evening.

Wonder if ‘Ballykissangel’ would seem as good if it were repeated?
So many programmes seemed to be so good, then disappointing on a second viewing.

I loved both those programmes but as you say Calendargirl don't know how they would stand up to viewing now. I have enjoyed The Yorkshire Vet as he was a pupil of James Heriot.
At least they would be better than washed up has beens having a free holiday.

I've seen one or two repeats of "All Creatures" in recent years.
I still thought they were excellent.

The theme music is so evocative. Sunday teatimes. Cosy meals in front of the fire with my husband. Life seemed so uncomplicated back then, before the kids arrived! I'm going to listen to it now on YouTube! It's a lovely piece of music. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDU0B-ByBpk

Do you remember the two Ronnies calling it 'All creatures grunt and smell'? I always thought of that name for it ever afterwards.

They recently made a new series of All Creatures and Small and it is due to be shown on Channel 5.
