Last Night of the Proms

I'm determined to enjoy it despite whatever measures have had to be taken to comply with Covid regulations. I have to say the bassoonist looks very cool and trendy!

As Richard Cole has just said, 'What a joy to be able to hear live music again.'

Me too Phoenix, Last Night without the audience is a bit of a lame duck. Himself has just taken charge and changed channels.

Eye oop! DH has perked up and put down his fishing magazine.

Nicola Benedetti has just walked on.

DH just woke up.

This is just lovely - The Lark Ascending.
I'm enjoying the scenery too.

I'd forgotten but switched on just as Lark Ascending was starting. I love the lead violinists dress and hair, she looks great. Sorry to be superficial she's obviously a very talented violinist.

Isn't it strange though, with no audience. Theres something particularly sad about Last Night in this pandemic

That final top note is magical!

I'm finding it very poignant and atmospheric.

Jerusalem is one of my all time favourites. Not this arrangement though. Oh good, they plan to sing the trad version later

I love the Sea Songs too

What a truly awful rendition of Jerusalem.

Hear hear!

I agree flopen Really terrible

My goodness, the piper's fingers are moving fast!

Callistemon

I love the Sea Songs too

Oh the hornpipe without the audience though.

Ditto to Jerusalem.

I agree! Had to turn the volume down. I think the presenter's dress is absolutely beautiful.

A valiant effort but how it all feels.

Bloody Covid!!

I like the traditional music from Scotland, Wales and N Ireland.

I hope too, that Dalia Stasevska will have another chance to conduct at Last Night of the Proms under more normal circumstances.

Her big moment and she is doing a wonderful job!

Turned the volume right up for the finale

I hate this bloody virus! ?????

I think the presenter's dress is absolutely beautiful.
Katie Derham - We should see more of her.

Yes it is different, but I am loving it!

I think it's wonderful

I actually enjoyed the new version of Jerusalem.
Here's the traditional song, all together now...
