I was disappointed when I saw Tom Hardy as a guest at H&M’s wedding, not at all sexy as he was in Taboo. So no, not got my vote.

Sean Connery is the definitive JB, IMHO.

Aidan Turner maybe?

grannynannywanny Graham Norton brilliant really made me ? laugh. If you’ve ever watched Granchester James Norton was the vicar . He was also in Mcmafia. He looks scrummy in black tie but Idris Elba is pretty fit as well!! These thoughts are not doing my blood pressure any good.

Gwyneth yes I can picture him now. I’d agree, he’s a good choice.
Now, I must go and try to erase the image of Graham Norton emerging from the sea in Daniel Craig’s blue swim shorts ?

Sean Connery will always be James Bond to me.

Of course he is, even though he's just turned 90. As a young teenage boy, I avidly read all of Fleming's 007 adventures and seeing a photo of Fleming, that's how I pictured Bond, but Connery changed that.

Some actors can read a script and just get inside a character. Harrison Ford is always Indiana Jones, Sean Bean is Richard Sharpe, (did you know that Sean Bean's birth certificate shows the spelling of his name as Shaun?) and Ioan Gruffudd is Horatio Hornblower.

However, Michael Gambon did a brilliant job of Dumbledore, when he replaced Richard Harris. The latter having sadly passed away.

I think I remember Idris Elba saying in an interview that he wouldn't take the part if it was offered.

I think further up the thread someone was trying to remember the name Tom Hiddlestone.

I've been looking up Tom Hardy on the Web and have realised that I have no idea who he is. I do remember hearing that he played twins in a film once and was highly praised for it. May have been the Cray twins.

The Kray twins.....can’t imagine Hardy playing Ronnie or Reggie.?
Was Tom Hiddlestone the main character in The Night Manager? He was excellent in that.

Well that's a relief, when I saw the name I thought: "Tom Who?" But I didn't dare say so, I once made that mistake with Gary Barlow, but I'm still none the wiser on either of them.

Looks like Hardy won't be the next 007 after all! Maybe Sam Heughan?

I've just seen in an article that Henry Cavill may be the next Bond - he looks fairly handsome and rugged.

He's perfect in Superman and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Chiwetel Ejiofor or Sam Heughan would be my choice...Tom Hardy is very good but for me he lacks the charm needed to play Bond.

James Norton or Aiden Turner would be my choice, but I really thought Idris had it in the bag.

Tom Hiddleston is beautiful, but I think a little too cerebral to be Bond. James Norton would be good.

My favourite is Roger Moore but I think now it would be Tom Hardy definitely.
