Tom Hardy is an excellent choice, I loved him in Taboo (started off nor enjoying the program but was hooked after second episode)

If Colin Firth was a few years younger I think he would have made a very distinguished James Bond

I agree GG, I think Tom Hardy will be excellent.

He was very good in Taboo and I thought he was brilliant in Peaky Blinders ... and funny.

I always thought Idris Elba but Sean Connery will always be James Bond to me.

Snap! I was hoping for Idris Elba. I agree that nobody has been quite like Sean Connery as James Bond.

Sam Heughan was amongst those being considered- I love Idris Elba but think he looks too old to be Bond- I'm not a Connery fan- I liked Moore, Brosnan and Craig-

Not a JB fan but I didn't like the last chap particularly and I don't think Tom Hardy will change that.
Tom Ward who used to be in Silent Witness was very handsome and would fit the bill in my eyes.

It should be someone really young. Look how DC has aged over the films he did. Not that Bond shouldn't age, I suppose. Pierce Brosnan was my favourite. Idris Elba is perhaps too butch, but he's a very good actor so he could pull it off.

I really like Tom Hardy but think he is maybe a bit too rugged for Bond. James Norton would have been my choice of the ones mentioned in this thread

Gwyneth your suggestion of James Norton really threw me for a couple mins. I was picturing him in the part and it just wasn’t doing it for me.
Then the penny dropped that I was conjuring up images of Graham Norton. I seriously think I’ve lost the plot lately ?

Also a Mark Strong fan- But can't picture him as Bond- A villain perhaps!

I don’t mind who as I don’t know most of them. I just hope they bring back that sexy twinkle and sense of humour. IMHO the last few have been far too dark and definitely not sexy. Pierce and Roger, now that’s two men I’d have invited in. I’m going for a cold hose down.

Tom Hardy is quite small I think, he only looked tall in Taboo because of the tall hat he wore.??
